Silas woke up the next morning to an empty bed. He immediately felt a breath of panic overtake him. He hastily got dressed and combed through the estate, asking various people if they had seen or heard Cellie leave.
"There's no way she would have run off again is there? She seems to be rather fond of staying here nowadays. Maybe the confrontation yesterday morning spooked her. Maybe...."
His train of thought was derailed as he looked out through the wrought iron framed glass door of the solarium. She was dressed in a two piece linen outfit. A slender strapped shirt that hovered directly below her chest and a long skirt split up the side revealing a small section of her upper thigh. The fabric was the color of flax after a deep rain. Her hair hung loose framing her brilliant pools of burgundy. He paused a moment and enjoyed the image of her bent over a raised bed tending to the plants, the wet soil staining the tips of her fingers, she even had some dirt streaked across her cheek and nose.
He quietly pushed the fragile door open and closed it behind him. He made his way silently over to Cellie and sat on the pavement behind her pulling her into his lap.
"Ohhh..."
She yelped in surprise as she was pulled down against him but quickly relaxed in his hold when she realized it was Silas. She curled up against his chest closing her eyes, simply taking in his presence for a moment. She adored his scent of Bonfire and how it overtook the space. It reminded her of the forest, which is why she came to the solarium in the first place.
"You gave me quite the scare little one. For a moment I thought you ran off again."
She peered upward at his handsome eyes as his fingers ran through her hair and caressed up her ear that twitched slightly under his touch.
"Gods what did I do to deserve you?'
He proceeded to take the sleeve of his shirt and wipe away the dirt staining her face.
"I'm sorry, I should have left a note, I was just craving some time in nature."
"It's alright love, next time let me know, maybe we can escape for a couple days."
His fingers drew circles on the exposed part of her thigh as he spoke, his words were serene yet rich with timbre.
"You know we can have clothes made for you?"
He questioned while running the thin fabric between his fingers.
"Maybe something that...covers more."
She gazed up to see his eyes darken slightly, she grinned at his response.
"If that's what you wish, Si."
"It is."
His words were short but phrased with levity, as he stood up pulling Cellie with him.
"I don't want any of the pack seeing too much of what belongs to my eyes. Come Cellie, it's breakfast time."
Cellie giggled as Silas took her hand and escorted her to the dining hall.
"Aren't you scared one of your warriors will come over here and scoop me up."
Cellie joked, motioning to her thigh while taking a seat down next to him.
"Celendria, don't push it, or I might just make you wear high neck gowns with full skirts for the rest of your life."
As he looked over at her she bit down on her lower lip with a glint of mischief swimming in her eyes.
"What has gotten into you today little one?'
He leaned in closer to her, Hovering at a distance where his warm breath fanned over her ear.
"Did our escapades last evening have anything to do with your newfound saucy attitude."
Silas pulled away smirking at the flush of crimson growing across her features, as the food was brought out to the table.
Cara broke the heat building between them as she slid into the seat catty corner Cellie, Terrin in tow.
"LUNA! You made it to breakfast! You look...cold."
Silas nearly spat out his porridge at Cara's words and Terrin looked up surprised.
"Sorry..Sorry, just thought of something funny."
Silas said, gazing over at Cellie's exposed flesh. while curving his full hearted laugh to a tamed chuckle.
Cellie gave him a light kick to the shin below the table in response.
"OUCH!".......Just kicked the table leg."
He glared at Cellie as she smirked back happily.
"Silas, there has been no further presence at the southern border as of yet. Everything is quiet."
Terrin's voice is professional and painfully serious.
"Terrin, you are such a mood vampire."
He glared at Cara as she responds to his statement.
"Thank you for the update, Beta."
Silas takes a firm hold of Cellie's hand under the table, noticing her features quickly growing somber at Terrin's report.
As the estate staff cleans the empty plates off the table Terrin and Silas are standing to the side slightly, chatting about watch schedules and the training of new pups.
As soon as Cara hears the word pups she turns her attention to Cellie, who is observing Silas with an unconscious smile.
"Luna? Have you and Alpha, discussed pups yet?"
Cellie's already large eyes grew bigger as she turned her vision to Cara. She froze unable to speak. Luckily, Silas's strong hand fell onto her shoulder, relaxing her surprised state.
"We haven't discussed it yet, Cara. We will be waiting till Cellie's ready."
Cellie sighed in relief, but her mind started to drift to the memories of their adult interactions, non of which included any sort of protection.
The two couples proceeded out of the dining hall, Terrin and Cara turning towards the manors entrance, and making their way out into the woods. While Cellie silently followed Silas to his office. He sat down at his desk and began riffling through fresh stacks of paperwork. While Cellie absentmindedly twisted the frail fabric of her skirt around her fingers, trying to recall the last time she partook of mother nature's monthly gift.
"Little one, you are going to ruin you skirt."
He says while observing her fiddling.
"Sorry,...Just thinking."
Her voice was washed of any meaningful emotion, as not to alert Silas, but he knew better.
"What is it Little one?"
His tone offered a amused aire as he ran his hand through his ebony hair.
"Ummm, we haven't been using protection Si."
He matched her gaze, noting the finite worry flickering in her eyes.
"Celendria, if you are pregnant, you are pregnant, we will figure it out. Would it make you feel better if I had one of the staff fetch you a test?"
She nodded shyly, and Silas mind linked with a female member of staff.
A few hours passed as Silas surely whittled his pile of papers to the bottom. Just as they were about to take their leave of the office. A excited young woman handed Cellie the pregnancy test
"Best wishes, Luna."
She curtsied and then scampered away.
Cellie looked up at Silas and he begrudgingly let free her hand. She made her way to their chambers, Knowing to meet Silas in the front courtyard of the estate after.
She was sat with the slender piece of plastic in her hand nervously awaiting it's outcome. She could see her hand trembling as the test did it's job.
To her relief it was negative. She took a deep sigh, disposed of the test and ran to meet up with Silas outside.
