Unexpectedly Wrong

Aiden's POV
All of them gone. In the blink of an eye. My entire group wiped out.
For an hour I've been wandering alone looking for my brother and hopefully his group.
This isn't right.
These creatures attacked us. Small, big, medium, strong, weak, average.
They told us this was a training ground transformed for the activity but according to an angel that was on my team she said she helped coordinate this and they never created these monsters. She gave the idea to proceed cause maybe they changed it last minute due to difficulties.
But this- this is no longer a testing ground. It's a labyrinth.
"GRRRR"
I flipped upwards and swung my sword killing the monster. Also, what hell are they? I walked over to the weirdly shaped Minotaur with angel wings and tusks on their heads and in their mouths. Their blood wasn't even red. It was black. Gross and creepy. I need to find Zero and his group. I have no idea what's happening, but this doesn't look like it'll end well.
"Zero!"
I Jogged around calling for him and screaming his name. I ran into a few more of those weird creatures cutting them down fast as I could to find him. I turned a corner and bumped into someone whose ass kissed the ground hard.
"Ah!"
"Ugh!"
"Whoa! Kanji did you hit a wall?"
"No, she hit... AID! ZERO YOU'RE BROTHER WE FOUND HIM!"
"More like his chest found my head... ow."
I held my hand out for her, and she grabbed it.
"Thanks..."
"Don't count on it happening again."
She gave me a rotten glare, but I didn't care. I walked over to Zero and he grabbed my hand and pulled me into a hug.
"Brother. Your team?"
"... Dead... How'd you keep yours?"
"Ah Kanji and I took off together. But Myrio, Toshino and Toshiba went off when everyone else did. After half n hour we ran into them but before that we were on our own."
Toshiba was talking to Kanji about something occasionally shooting us glances.
"Aiden? Toshiba, Myrio, and I killed some weird creatures. Did you have the same run in?"
"I did. About eight of em in total."
"Where did they even come from?"
I shook my head and then turned to glare at Kanji.
"You. This was your friend's idea! What did you two do?!"
"W-what?"
I walked towards her menacingly and grabbed her wrist harshly. For a second, I smelt a sweet scent. Cherry blossoms and coconut. Odd.
"AIDEN!"
"STAY OUT OF THIS ZERO!"
She winced and looked at me in disbelief.
"What. Did. You. Do."
"W-we didn't do anything! I knew we had activities set up, but I never knew she'd do race against time!"
"BULLSHIT."
"IT'S NOT I SWEAR! THE ONLY ONES WHO COULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS ARE...."
She whispered the last part making me scowl in disapproval. I lightly shook her and she looked back at me annoyed and scared.
"Say it louder damn it!"
"Alright come on Aiden get off her-"
"Shut it Toshiba!"
"Aid you're doing too much let her go."
"He's right man this isn't her fault."
"Aid please just-"
"Damn It Zero We get it your attracted to her but for just one moment keep it in your pants! You don't have to f**k everything that moves!"
"Aiden what the hell are you-"
Suddenly Toshiba was screaming her name.
"KANJI WATCH OUT!!"
"AHHHH!"
"KANJI!!"
"ZERO!"
"ON IT!"
We both attacked the stranger creature that had grabbed her. It was almost like a kraken. The creature screeched horribly, and we landed on the ground. I held my hands out catching Kanji as she fell. We Looked up and the creature let out another ear-piercing screech.
"RUNNN!"
Everyone in the vicinity can be heard crying in terror along with their blood-curling screams. I held Kanji tightly as she had fainted for an unknown reason. Once clear the group looked around. We could finally see the outside of the labyrinth. Blood splattered everywhere. Warriors fighting the creatures. Demons and angels laid out on the ground with lifeless eyes. It was chaos.
"Z-Zero?"
"I know Aiden. I see it too."
We looked around for a way to escape but we couldn't. We were trapped.
"Kids! Over here!"
A woman flagged us down beckoning us over to her. Myrio immediately recognized her.
"Guys that's Kanji's mother! Let's Go!"
We Followed him running towards her. She loaded us and a few others on to a ship before flying off. I was so tired and disorientated I didn't realize I was holding kanji close to my body to protect her. Her mother rubbed my shoulder and smiled at me warmly.
"My dear you can set her down over here."
She led me to a room where I gently laid her down. Then I heard Kanji's best friend Mira gasp. I looked to where she was and saw blood on my hands. Zero and I rushed back over to Kanji and saw a huge wound on her right side of her stomach.
"How?!"
"It must've been when the creature grabbed her. Come on we've gotta dress the wound."
After fifteen minutes of taking care of the wound I heard Toshino and looked over at him. I noticed everyone was near him.
"Whoa. Guys look."
I walked over and looked in shock at our home world that was in pure chaos. Strange ships landed unloading strange people we never encountered nor seen before. We all tried to process what was happening.
"He warned me. Deangelo warned me."
"Deangelo? Excuse me... ma'am? You know our father?"
Kanji's mother looked up at Toshiba and Toshino.
"Yes... He was an old friend."
Toshino shook his head and looked at her as if she had gone mad.
"Our father has been dead for 9 years. How the hell do you know him? You're from Genshina. There is no way he knew you."
"The prophecy. Angelo. Rika. They were all right. Why now damn it!?"
She continued mumbling while patching up kanji. Her eyes roamed widely and fear was instilled deep within them.
What is wrong with this lady? Toshiba and Toshino looked at her like she was losing her mind. Once she was done she cleaned up the area and started rummaging through papers looking for something.
"Look listen lady I don't know what you know but you needa start talking and making sense. Now."
Toshiba looked at her pissed. Toshino placed a hand on a very visibly disturbed Toshiba.
"You all have to leave. Get far. Here."
She handed Zero a map with certain areas marked in red ink.
"Go to these places for refuge. There you will all learn the truth."
Zero sighed while looking down and nodded in understanding accepting everything she was saying.
But I couldn't. I refuse to.
"No. This isn't right none of this makes sense."
"Aid-"
"NO ZERO. FIRST OF ALL, WHY ISNT ANYONE ASKING HER THE RIGHT QUESTIONS?! ALSO WHY CANT SHE TELL US WHY DO WE HAVE TO SEARCH FOR THE ANSWER?!"
Mira scowled and looked back up pissed.
"Maybe it's not meant for you to search for."
"Excuse me?!"
"Aid-"
"Zero what is she talking about?"
"Aiden-"
Suddenly the ship shook, and everyone screamed. Toshino helped a few people who got knocked over stand up.
"What in the forsaken hell was that?!"
-Enemy ship approaches. Activating Evasive procedures-
"Everyone hold on!!"
The ship flew in all sorts of directions and tossed and turned. Kanji's mother stood up and looked at everyone before looking at her daughter. She kissed her forehead and then walked towards Zero.
"Zero please take care of her. Promise me."
He nodded and she gave him a hug and weak smile. Then she opened the hatch and grabbed a spear. Wings grew from her back, and everyone stared in awe/horror as she jumped out of the ship. We all moved towards the window and watched as she fought the ships and strangers that attacked us. She was powerful. Her strength and power were unmatched. Everyone cheered her on until an arrow pierced through her chest. We watched as her light faded and she fell with grace down to the hell stricken now wasteland.
"NOOO!"
"AHH!"
Zero held Myrio as he tried to leave the ship to save her. Mira sank to the ground sobbing and everyone else was petrified.
"She's gone Myrio. She's gone."
Zero's voice was cracked and hallow.
"None of this was supposed to happen."
I side eyed Mira who was sobbing her eyes out. I walked up to her and grabbed her angrily.
"Then what was supposed to happen? HUH!?"
She trembled and only cried even harder. Toshino grabbed me off of her.
"Cool it dude cut it out. She just lost someone close to her. We all have. Let it rest till everyone's calmer and more collected."
"Tch."
"Aiden please. Just... behave."
Zero was acting strange. He wasn't smiling instead he looked concerned. He turned his back to us and walked over to Kanji holding her hand and resting his head on top of it. For some reason that made me angry. It made my blood boil. But why? What the hell is wrong with me today?
Who the hell is Kanji and her mother?
What did Ms. Garcia mean to these guys.
What is going on?
What are these creatures?
I swear on the founders of the fiery pits of hell I'll find the truth. Even if it kills me.
