Kanji's POV
Everyone who was standing in group were helping Aiden up. While Zero and Toshiba held me back from trying to kill Aiden. He spat blood out and glared at me. His group went from helping him up to holding him back.
"YOU DUMB STUPID TRAM-"
I spat at him and it landed in his eye causing him to scream and start thrashing. I smirked and started trying to shake Zero and Toshiba off me.
"LET ME GO! THAT f*****g ASSHOLE HAD IT COMING!"
Toshiba struggled to keep a hold on me and to speak.
"I KNOW KANJI. Trust me. I do. But doing this will not help at all. It'll only make it worse. We've gotta find a different way to do this."
I calmed down slowly and she let go of me. Zero held me still for I don't know why I assumed it was cause he was scared I'd lose my s**t again. Aiden also calmed down and one of his companions spoke.
"Look at how violent she is. Aiden's right. We should kick them out!"
Toshiba growled causing that companion to hide behind another. I stood there pissed as they murmured amongst themselves while staring at me like I was an animal on display at the zoo. I shook Toshiba off me and spoke with no but pure rage.
"If it wasn't for my mother. A GENSHINA. Aiden would've f*****g died. Zero, Toshiba, Toshino, and more would've DIED. She saved them. So I beg to differ on the circumstances of us staying. We aren't leaving, and there isn't s**t you can do to make us."
Silence took over them. And they all looked guilty. They knew I was right. They were being ungrateful. Their future rulers were safe because of my mother. She saved us told us where to go and protected us till her dying breath.
I glared at them while panting. Zero who had let go of me during my speech sighed.
"She's right. As the half sovereign as long as he agrees to it the other Genshina can stay here in hell for as long as they need."
Aiden side eyed his brother. He knew what he had meant. Their father had spilt the powers when they came back to make it even. But because of Aiden's erratic behavior only Zero inherited half of the throne. Aiden's half still resides with their father.
"You know keeping them here will only lead to a war."
Aiden glared at his brother while spitting those words out angrily.
I glared back at Aiden.
"The only one who wants a war is You."
He scoffed and spat blood out of his mouth on to the ground.
"Then pray to your Pathetic god that it never happens. Afterall.... He may be able to protect you now... but you aren't worth anything to me."
His words were laced with Venom. And so was his stare. He looked back at his brother before walking away with the group that followed him before. Toshiba took a deep breath and then sighed.
"That.... Could've.... went worse... right?"
Zero raised an eyebrow unimpressed and shook his head.
"Kanji. We need to talk."
Zero stared at me with a harsh serious look. I sighed and ran my fingers through my hair. I nodded and looked up at him.
"Fine. Whatever. Let's talk."
He grabs my arm. He was gentle even though he was pulling me away from Toshiba who looked fairly concerned. I walked behind him or well ran behind him as he lead me to a room. Servants opened the door and he dismissed them while ordering guards to stand by.
"No one is to enter."
They bowed and placed a hand over their chest.
"Yessir."
When the doors closed again wr stopped and he let me go. I tilted my head as I watched him walk over to what looked like a... mini bar?
'How f*****g rich do you have to be to have a mini bar in your f*****g room?!'
He poured himself a drink and glanced towards me.
"Want one?"
I shook my head and he nodded and poured more in his cup.
"More for me then."
He then put the bottle down and walked over to a chair with the drink in his hand.
"Zero. I didn't let you drag me here to watch you drink or have one with you. What did you want to talk about?"
He looked at him. His expression was unreadable. I swallowed slightly and breathed out harshly. He took another sip before looking at his drink and swirling it around.
"Your mother. What did she mean when we were on the ship?"
I frowned at the mention of my mother. We haven't spoken about her ever since she.... It was annoying/shocking that Zero of all people would be the first to break that wall and bring her up.
I hugged myself and looked down shaking my head.
"I wouldn't know."
He slammed the drink down and I flinched looking at him like he was crazy.
"Kanji f*****g Gracia DO NOT. PISS ME OFF."
I backed away from him and frowned while staring at him wide eyed.
"Zero I don't know! Truly I don't! Everything she said that day was news to me as well!"
He ran his fingers through his hair and down his face. He looked stressed. He gave something like a smile but his tone was harsh.
"I am vouching for you. As half ruler of Hell? I am vouching for you and your people. I'm holding this s**t together by a thread. BY A f*****g. THREAD. OKAY?! So I need you. To tell me? What the f**k she was talking about. You and your people's lives depend on it."
I looked at him like he was crazy. But he was serious. Dead serious. He painted slightly and picked back up his drink sitting down and chuckled.
"My father told my brother and I. If we can't figure out what exactly cause all of this then we are to... we are to go to war... with Genshina."
"WAR?!"
My eyes widen as I screamed at him. Why?! It wasn't our fault! We didn't concoct this up!! We lost some of our own in that now s**t show. And his father thinks it was us?!
"Zero..."
"No Kanji. Do not do that. Don't call my name to try and reason! I'm trying to save you. Your people. My people. But I can't do that if you don't assure me that you had no part in any of this. That you didn't plan this to try and do some hostile takeover. That the trust I've found in you when we were in that maze wasn't misplaced. Please.... I need you... I need you to tell me that I can trust you with all my heart and that I didn't make a mistake..."
I looked at him and walked towards him hugging him. I held him close and breathed out shakily.
"Zero... you didn't make a mistake... I.... I don't know if this had anything to do with us but I can tell you that you didn't misplace your trust. Together... together we can figure this out and save our people... okay?"
He leaned into my touch and sighed shakily. He was nervous and anxious. I could feel it. For some reason his emotions reached me to my heart. It was almost like I'm apart of him. He nodded his head against my chest and spoke in a soft voice.
"Yeah... together..."
I smiled and moved away abit still holding him. My hands moved to his cheeks and I cupped them while looking at him making sure he felt what I tried to convey.
"Mmm. Together."
He smiled back and closed his eyes. I leaned my forehead against his. And he did the same. We stayed like that for a while. No noise. No screaming. No doubt. Just us and the wind blowing from outside. Just us and peace. Relaxing into each other's energy.
I was so stupid to not have realized....
The forces of our worlds loved playing tricks on us.
I should've knew then what I know now.
