A Million Thoughts

Third POV~ Her eyes flew open and the young nineteen-year-old laid there on her bed. Sweat dripping down her forehead. She sighed in frustration and sat up. Looking at the time her eyes went wide. As she sat on the edge of her bed, she looked at her door only to now see her mother causally leaning against the door frame. "Holy- Jeez mom! Say something if your here! Make your presence known!" Her mother shook her head and rolled her eyes. "Kanji, I've called you a total of five times and you ignored me." "I was asleep ma-" "When you sat up dear." She turned and looked at her mother with confusion. Then she shook her head and stood up stretching her limbs. "I'm unbelievably sore today gosh!" "You had a sparring event yesterday that's a given my dear." She gave her mom a soft 'ha-ha got ya' smile then she looked at the time again. "I'm assuming you woke me up because today's...." She trailed off and her mother nodded. "Graduation day so come on! Get up get ready. Your cap and gown are on your study desk." Her mother left her room. She sighed and looked at a picture by her bed. A woman with long hair and green eyes was holding a young child in her arms. The woman stood at approximately 5'9 her pearly white teeth glistened as she held her baby. The man next to her stood at 6'1. His eyes looked young and old because of his smile lines. He looked down at his wife and child with love beyond compare. Kanji held the photo before kissing it and then putting it back down. She got up and started to get ready for her special day playing music (Send my love by Adele). After an hour of getting ready she grabbed her bag and her speech ready to dart out the door. She opened the door and then looked back smiling at the picture one last time before whispering. "Love you dad..." When she got in the car her mother turned on the radio. She vibes to the music as they traveled to their destination. Soon they arrived and she stepped out the car nervously. Her mother rubbed circles in her back telling her it would be alright. But the young girl couldn't help but feel that the day would go wrong. Some way.... somehow, she felt something bad would happen. Kanji's POV~ As I walk through the crowd to where all the graduates stand, my mind runs back to my dream from this morning. I remember that boys last name. Yet I can't remember his first name. Ah this is such a headache! My mother and I walked through the crowed receiving a lot of congratulations and warm smiles at least that's what they looked like. Sometimes the people would look at us with a look that I can't exactly express what it was. Maybe it was hatred for being a noble family? Or envy? I couldn't tell. And to be honest I don't think I wish to be able to. Soon we reached the stage. As I stood in the back with the rest graduates, I looked down at my speech remembering my words and remembering to stay calm and poise like mother taught me. Then suddenly my father's words rang in my head. 'Keep your head up no matter what cause that's what's life is about encountering obstacles and defeating them by doing good.' I smiled warmly and giggled a bit. 'Thanks dad! You've always known what to say! Even when you're not here anymore.' My thoughts got cut short when the announcer spoke up on stage. "WELCOME, WELCOME. Good morning to all of you and happy Grads Day. I know that must of you are excited to be finding out where you stand in our ranks and where your placement will be working wise but please be patient the good news is soon to come! Now as you all know today on grads day is the one year when the graduates from hell and their parents join us here in Genshina so please be respectful towards them and NO fighting or frolicking. We will conduct ourselves properly and act accordingly. Understood?" *all* "understood." "Good." As she finishes telling us how to behave the kids from hell arrive in a wild and indecent manner. They come running in and yelling and screaming like animals. They jump on tables try to tempt others to join them. They were wild and I kind of liked it. They were free and didn't have a list of rules to follow. Unlike us. Our rules got weirder and dumber as I grew up to be under them. Some believe it's due to the rebels who failed in their attack a few years ago when I was a kid. Others believe it's to protect us. I just believe it's dumb and makes no sense through and through. Though my mother would have my head for saying that. "Do you see this kanji? Be happy and thankful that You were raised properly and not raised to act as an ass. Dear gods forgive my language, please for I have no excuse for cursing. But u understand right kanji my dear daughter?" I looked at them in awe. I admired them. I wanted to join them! But rules are rules. Besides mother would never let me. She'd rather die than ever let me become one of them. "Yes, mother I do." "Ehm....shall we continue? Congratulations to the graduates of this year's classes of 2030! The way this ceremony will go is that I will call up each student from all of the schools and the students who are called up will stand and come collect their certificates which officially states that you have passed. They will then return to their seat and wait until I am done handing out all of the certificates. Afterwards both of the top kids from both realms one girl and one boy will give their speech. If you do NOT receive a certificate or your name is not called, then good luck next year. Let us begin." "Seth Regan" "Marie smith" "Ethan Ticko" "Myrio Haston" Each student walked on to stage collecting their certificate. While I looked around distracted and not caring to pay attention. My eyes landed on a boy his hair short and kind of jet black his eyes were dark purple. He had a piercing in his nose and his ears. Then there was another man standing next to him. He had long black hair with beautiful purple eyes they were different to the boy next to him who I could only assume was his brother. They shined in the light. Suddenly they both looked over at me having felt my stare. I looked at them wide eyed and then looked away. "That's embarrassing..." I mumbled under my breathe. *20minutes later* Twenty. Damn. Minutes. The boy with short jet black hair was staring so hard I thought a hole would be burned into the side of my head. "Now will kanji Garcia please step up and give her speech." As my names called the two boys from earlier had their eyes glued to me. It made me uncomfortable. Very very uncomfortable. But none the less I walked out on to stage as if nothing had affected me. "Ehm. Good after noon to all the families and graduates here! Congratulations to all you who have done your schoolwork homework projects and have fulfilled your duties in school. Because of your hard work your reward is that u have graduated. You are now on your way to a better life and a life full of responsibility and maturity. I pray and hope that we will succeed in our new lives and grow into responsible adults. Congratulations classes of 2030!" When I was done with my speech everyone was clapping and cheering even the kids from the underworld were cheering me on. By the time i was at my seat the kid who represented the underworld was named Aidan Martinez. While he approaches the stand people whisper about him saying: 'It's that Laura's son?' 'Wait a minute he is Lucas and Laura's kid!' 'That's the spawn of those two huh.' 'Guess he's not as bad as the others if he's top of his class.' While they gossip I stare off into the distance again. Then I felt it. Those set of eyes on me. This time I turned and looked at the one responsible only to lock eyes with the boy with long black hair. He was staring at me but it made me feel weird. Not the way his brother stared but a good kind of weird? He smiled at me and I couldn't help but smile back. Something about him is so familiar. But what? I couldn't tell because soon his brother started to give his speech. When my eyes went up front. I jumped a bit realizing that Aidan was looking at me again. I looked away not wanting to meet his hard glare. "What the heck is wrong with those two.." My mother glanced over at me confused. "I'm sorry dear what was that?" "Ah..nothing mom I'm just thinking about my friends that's all. Really excited to see them later ya know?" My mother looked at me strange and then shook her head. "Young adults are weird nowadays." I giggled a bit and then looked back up. Aidan was no longer looking at me but at the people. I listened to his speech and realized it wasn't that bad. Then my mind wandered off again. To that boy from my dreams. Oddly enough the boy with long hair reminded me of the boy from my dreams. But it couldn't be. That boy is gone. Well, it's useless to ponder on someone whose name I couldn't even remember. Besides he's probably forgotten me. Right?
