Glancing down at her feet, Maya felt her cheeks burn at the state of her hiking boots. Their once supple leather had dulled and cracked from years of neglect. She and Raiden had always gone hiking in the mountains, but after his disappearance, aside from those first few weeks where she had walked every trail until her feet were raw with blisters, she had thrust them to the back of her wardrobe and locked them away for good. She had to admit she missed coming here, missed seeing the beautiful flowers in bloom and the feeling of serenity.
