CHAPTER 5 Hours passed, and by the time she was allowed to leave, Maya felt more like a suspect than someone being questioned in the hope of gaining a lead. She was exhausted, and if she had to sit through another round of how many times can we phrase the same question a different way, she was going to scream or cry. Because as much as she hated to admit it, she was an angry crier, and she had reached the end of her tether. She couldn't tell them what she didn't know.
