I felt contented after Elena regained her consciousness, it’s all I wanted. She requested for some water and food, which I gave to her, then she slept off, watching her sleep is what gave me comfort.
Sun rays that passed through the curtains hit my face and made me wake up, God knows the last time I’d had a good night sleep, I rubbed my heavy eyes. Then looked at her, curled up in the bed, my heart skipped a bit, I’d saved her.
