~Chapter 7~ Donivan's POV: I ease her into the car that Nico pulled up in. He rented the car just so we can take Arina for lunch and then out shopping for clothes, and anything else she may want or even need. As i said before, money is not an issue. i just want her happy and comfortable. Anything to make her smile to be honest. Nico and I helped her into the car, as gently as possible; making sure she wont trip, nor hit her head. "did you bring it?" i asked Nico as we closed the doors from inside. "Yup, it's right here." he said handing me my descise; {a beanie, with a beard and stash attached}. "did he bring what?" Arina asked. i froze for a split second "uh..." "uh, his wallet. Yeah, as much as he wants to be your knight in shinning armour, this doof forgets his wallet on a regular basis, sorry bro." Nico interupted covering for me. "oh, ok, no worries. so where are we headed?" she asked "well, that is totally up to you, what would you like for lunch?" i asked "me?" "yea you. what every you want, its yours. just name it. " i explained. "oh, i uh...i dont know. What are you guys in the mood for?" "oh no you dont" i began, "i am treating you today, this is my gift to you, so you have to choose what place, and what food, not us. we are guys, we can pretty much eat anything. But i want you to think deep and find out what you are craving for. wait, are you even hungry?" she shook her head shyly, "...no." i chuckeled and said, "that's ok, we will go shopping first, and then when you do start getting hungry, just let us know what you're in the mood for. sound good?" "yea" As we begin to drive twords the mall, i notice that Arina looked uneasy. shes was fidgety, and quiet. she hasnt been this quiet since she woke up. "Arina, everything ok?" i asked taking her hand into mine. "i uh...i was just wondering, did my doctor tell you about all of my conditions?" "i'm not sure, is there something you think we should know? i'm not being nosey, i just want to make sure i will take care of you the way you need." i explained. "if this was just for a day then i wouldnt even be thinking of it, but this is going to be a minimum of 6 months, and i think you should know...i was always labeled as weird because of my conditions, so they make me somewhat self concious." she then took a breath. "ok here it goes. i am extremely alergic to oysters, my throat closes and i start to convulse. so i carry an epi-pen just incase. i also have athma and a narrow air way issues, and before you say they are the same thing; in my case they are very different. if i get too hot, i will get athma attacks and my throat closes or swells. i normally have a neberlizer machine incase my lungs get tight, but normally my inhailer is enough. i also have paralyzed vocal cords. and before you ask how is it that i talk, its because when i was 3 i got really sick, my lungs collapsed and i needed a trakiodomy, and thats where they cut a hole on your throat and insert a breathing device. they said i would never reach the age of 6, let alone be able to speak again, and i proved them wrong. they found out that i was speaking by scar tissue in my throat and air, and eventually took the device out. and here i am 24 and still going strong." "so wait, you shouldnt even be here?" i asked in disbelief. "correct." "so why are you self concious of being a mirrical?" her head shot up, as if to look at me. "are you surprised?" i asked. "well...i just thought you guys would think im weird, just like everyone else." i chuckled, "weird? nah, amazing? hell yea. that story just proves to me that youre a fighter. and i am beyond thrilled that i am gana get to know you and all of your stories." i said wraping one arm around her shoulder in a hug. "you should never feel embarressed or ashamed, or even uncomfortable to let me know anything." "i even have some...women issues." "such as?" i asked she took a breath, "well to start it off, i was a late bloomer. i was 21 when i got my first 'code red'." "code red?" i asked confused "her period, dude." Nico interupted. "oh." was all i could say. "yea, and i would only get it for 3 hours, every other month, without any syptoms. no cramps, or cravings. Later on, my docs found out that i had PCOS; poly cystic ovarian syndrome. its basically an infertility issue, along with weight gain. once on birth controle to help with my issue, i began to experiance horrible horrible pain. it would make me vomit and even faint. most days i couldnt even leave my bed, i would lay all day in a fetal position. after 2 years of constant pain they discovered that one of my ovaries wouldnt move. it was stuck from a condition known as Endometriosis. its basically where the lining for my code red to shed, is on the inside of my body instead of the outside," she explained. "inside and outside? i'm a little lost." "...my tunnel Doni. my v****a?" she began. "my tunnel is the outside. so when i bleed on the inside, theres nowhere for it to go, so when i bleed it hurts even more. its complicated, but very painful." "oh wow, im so sorry. When ever anything happens, just let any one of us know and i will do my best to make you as comortable as posibile." i said reasuring her. "Thanks." she held my arm and nuzzeled her face on the side of my shoulder. i couldn't help it but a small smile made its way on my face, and Nico saw it in his rear view mirror. about 40 minutes later we pull up to the mall, i realized she had fallen asleep. "hey sweetie, we're here" i said shaking my arm gently to wake her. as she came to, she groaned. "hey do you guys have my meds? my head is kill'n" she said in a light voice. you could tell she was in pain. "yeah sure here." i handed her the pills, and a bottle water. i felt horrible. i know she is recovering but i know she desperately needs items before we head back to the bus. "im ready, but is it ok if i dont talk much until the pain subsides? my entire head is killing me." she asked. "yea thats completely ok. you sure you're ok?" asked sharing my concern with her. "yesh, i'm vine Doni. pain, well, pain makes me cwanky, and its just west for me to stay quiet until it wasses." she reasured. I then looked at Nico, "the slurd speech is normal with her condition." i explained. "can you go and grab us a wheel chair for her?" "sure thing." "i'm shorry im such a bother to you guys, but if it meansh anything, i appriciate every little thing you guys are doing so bar." she said. "baby, it is nothing to worry about." "did you just call me baby?" she asked blushing. before i could fib my way out, Nico comes back zipping close to the door, "on a board perty lady." basically saving my ass once again. "why thank you kind sir." she replied to him. i jumped out from my side and ran to the oposite side to help her sit. as she got settled in after we lowered the front basket, i asked, "are you comfortable in your wheeled throne, my lady?" i saw her smirk, and she said, "i am very comfy, 'baby'." Nico looked at me with an wide opened smile as he pointed to her, as i blushed. i just waved away the comment at him while shaking my head. "and on we go." i said rolling her away. about 2 hours, and about 12 bags later, Arina looked weird, and started fidgeting. "Arina, you ok?" i asked. all she did was shake her head. "dude, she looks really pale. " Nico explained. "ok just in case i am putting the chair right here next to the trash can." i said, "here let me help you up." nico lifted the basket, and i slowly helped her to her feet, and eased her over to the rim of the trash can. as soon as she gripped the rim she took a slow deep breath, and slowly exhailed. she then leaned in to it while gripping the sides of the rim hard. i saw her whole body contract. first her back, then her ribs, and then came the flying chunks. i have never seen someone puke so violently before. it scared me honestly. i was worried for her. "its ok." i said rubbing her back. she began to cry softly. "i hate getting sick. it hurts so much because my throat is so much smaller, you know? so when i get sick it feels like it tightens and shrinks even more. so my whole body forces it so so much." she explained before blowing more chunks. Nico then looked at me in concern. "this is part of her condition dude. its completely normal, i just feel really bad, i wish i could help her more." "i think im good. and trust me just having someone next to me during it, helps me enough, it comforts me. im afraid i will passout from lack of air so trust me, you being here is plenty." she said. "wait before you sit, take a swig of the mouthwash we got earlier and spit in the trash. im sure you dont want to taste that all day." i said handing her the bottle of mouthwash. all she did was giggle. as i helped her back down into her chair, she caught me off guard and blurted out, "taco bell" "taco bell?" i asked confused. "yea, i love taco bell. so when you guys can, can you grab me some taco bell for me for lunch? you did ask me to pick something. its cheap, and im dying for some tacos." i laugh at her response. "tacos it is. one more store and we will head to taco bell." about an hour later, we finished shopping, and we fueled up on our taco deliciousness. this little angle enjoyed every single bite and sip of her blast slush and her tacos. i suppose the little things do count, especially to her. we were on our way to the bus and she seeed a little nervous. "you ok?" i asked her as Nico drives again. "yea just a bit nervous of new suroundings but i ill get used to it. are the other guys there?" "yes they are." "and they're ok with me crashing your pad for a while?" she asked. i giggled at the phrase 'pad' and said, "they are more than ok." she then exhailed almost as if relieved. "did you think they wouldnt be ok with it? they are as concerned about your recovery as much as nico and i are." i reasured her. "they will be part of your recovery just as much as Nico and I."
