LYKOS My body seemed to take on a life of its own, defying the pull of the water and propelling me upward until I broke through the surface, my mind racing with the enormity of what had just happened. I looked around, frantic, my heart racing in my chest. Had I actually just breathed underwater? It felt surreal as if I were trapped in a vivid dream. A part of me wondered if I was still alive or if I had drowned and was now in some kind of afterlife. And then it dawned on me: my fear of water was gone. I was in the middle of the ocean, staring at nothing but miles upon miles of water, and I was not afraid. The realization was simultaneously exhilarating and terrifying. I took a deep breath, felt the air fill my lungs, and instinctively reached for my shoulder, burying my claws in it. P
