LYKOS I looked up at the sky, on the verge of screaming, and my body took on a life of its own as I walked deeper into the dark waters, losing all sense of reason while still clinging to my limp mate. The farther I went, the lighter I felt, until it seemed like we were floating. Still clinging to her, I cried out once more and pleaded with the Moon Goddess to bring her back as I stroked her hair, holding her close, not knowing what else to do. My pleadings, however, appeared to be in vain. Desperation clawed at my heart, and before I knew it, my hands had swept her hair to the side. "Please, Goddess," I whispered, my voice cracking.
