Diane sat next to her mother with a headband over her head as she prayed fervently for her mother to wake up. Suddenly, she felt a touch on her head and looked up in shock. "Mom!!" Diane screamed, hugging her mother tightly as her mother groaned in pain. "Sorry, sorry, are you...?" Diane tried to ask but was too excited to finish her sentence. Instead, she grasped her mother's hand tightly. "I thought I would never see you again," she said, her eyes brimming with tears. Her mother smiled warmly at her. "Where is your dad?" she asked, causing Diane's face to fall. "After all he's done to you, he's the first person you look for when you wake up?" Diane asked, a hint of frustration in her voice.
