Chase stood outside Charlotte's room, hesitating as he contemplated whether to enter or not. He felt guilty about her car getting damaged and had gotten her a new one, but he had also vowed to stay away from her. He sighed and turned around to leave, but Charlotte's door suddenly swung open, catching him off guard.
"Chase?" she said, looking at him with surprise.
Startled by her sudden appearance, he stared at her, unsure of what to say.
"What brings you here?" she asked, her eyes narrowing slightly as she awaited his response.
As he finally gathered his thoughts, he handed her a key." Here," he said, his voice low and hesitant.
"What is it for?" she asked, taking the key from him.
"It's a car key," he replied, his eyes avoiding hers.
"You got me a car?" she interrup
