Chapter 16

1056 Words

Leila The dining table in the Harrison Manor felt thick. I kept playing back the words Julian Sinclair said in the room. Both of the uncles I didn't know anything about, were in prison. I still wondered why my dad never told me about his family. I've lost too much to never know this. I looked down at the plate. Breakfast today in the Harrison manor was cinnamon rolls for me and some hot cocoa. I felt a sudden tightness in my chest all the while eating as I sat opposite to James. His plates were filled with eggs and a cut of coffee was swirling hot in front of him. He noticed I was looking at him then stared blankly at me. I didn't lower my gaze to him. He raised his eyebrows at me and I did the same. He took a sip of His dark coffee and dropped the cup with a click to the table.
