Leila I looked at my dad for the last time. The nurses and doctors pushed his bed away into the mortuary. The lights in the room beamed in my eyes, leaving my heart more sunken that it was. I sniffled back my tears. I was sure Jasmin knew something was wrong at this point. When my fathers bed moved passed us, a white garment over his entire body, the questions kicked in. “Maama, isn’t Grandpa sleeping there? Can I go wake him up?” My hand flew to my mouth, but my sobs still slipped through as my shoulders trembled. I ran to where his body was and the nurses paused when they saw me again.
