I've been in Vincenzo's kingdom for what feels like an eternity. Days blend into nights, and I've lost count of time. The lavish room I occupy is both a prison and a sanctuary. Vincenzo visits me often, but our conversations are like walking on thin ice – one wrong step, and I'll fall into the unknown.
"Why am I here?" I asked him yesterday. "You could've just let me go that night."
Vincenzo's smile was infuriating. "I told you, Selina. You're different."
Different. That word again. What does it mean? Does he see something in me that I don't?
Today, Vincenzo brought me a gift – a beautiful silver necklace with a small crystal pendant. "For you," he said, his eyes gleaming. I took it hesitantly, wondering what it signifies.
As he left, I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror. The necklace sparkles against my skin, and for a moment, I look... different. My eyes seem brighter, my skin glowing. Vincenzo's words echo in my mind: "You're different."
A soft knock on the door interrupts my thoughts. It's Vincenzo, dressed in a tailored suit, looking like he just stepped out of a fashion magazine.
"Selina," he says, his voice low. "Tonight, I'll show you my world."
My heart skips a beat. What does he mean?
"Come," he says, offering his hand.
I take a deep breath and follow him into the night, unsure what awaits me.
We step out into a world unlike any I've seen. The city is alive, with people dressed in elaborate costumes, laughing and dancing in the streets. Music pulses through the air, making my skin tingle. Vincenzo leads me through the crowds, his hand on my back, guiding me.
We're headed to a grand mansion, with lights and music spilling out. A masked ball, maybe? My heart's racing as Vincenzo pulls me inside. I remember that night vividly. The music, the lights, the way Vincenzo's eyes seemed to see right through me. I was caught in his web, and I didn't want to be freed.
As we danced, I felt like I was floating, like I was a part of something bigger than myself. Vincenzo's hand on my back, his eyes locked onto mine... it was intoxicating. I felt like I was under his spell, and I didn't want to be rescued.
But as the music faded, reality set in. I remembered who Vincenzo was – a vampire, a creature of the night. And I was just a human, caught in his world.
Vincenzo's lips brushed against my ear, sending shivers down my spine. "You fit here, Selina. With me."
I pulled away, trying to process what he meant. What did he want from me? Was I just a plaything, a toy to be discarded when he grew tired of me?
Vincenzo's eyes seemed to see right through me, sensing my doubts. He smiled, his eyes glinning in the dim light. "Don't overthink it, Selina. Just enjoy the night."
But it was hard to do that, when I knew what he was. When I knew what I was getting myself into.
As we left the mansion, the cool night air hit me like a slap in the face. I felt like I was waking up, like I was coming back to reality.
Vincenzo's hand was still on my back, guiding me through the crowds. I felt like I was trapped, like I was a bird in a cage.
But as I looked up at him, I saw something in his eyes that made me hesitate. Something that looked almost... vulnerable.
"Vincenzo," I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
He turned to me, his eyes locking onto mine. "Yes, Selina?"
I felt like I was standing on the edge of a cliff, staring into the unknown. What did I want to ask him? What did I want to know?
But before I could say anything, Vincenzo's phone rang, shattering the moment. He pulled it out, his eyes narrowing as he answered.
I took the opportunity to pull away, to try and process what was happening. But as I turned to walk away, I felt Vincenzo's hand on my arm, holding me back.
"Not so fast, Selina," he said, his voice low and husky. "We're not done yet."
My heart skipped a beat as he pulled me closer, his eyes burning with an intensity that made me feel like I was on fire.
As Vincenzo's hand held me in place, I felt a surge of fear mixed with excitement. What was he going to do? The music and laughter of the crowd seemed to fade into the background as I stared up at him.
Vincenzo's eyes seemed to bore into my soul, making me feel like I was trapped in a dream. He leaned in closer, his breath whispering against my ear. "You're not going anywhere, Selina. Not tonight. Not ever."
I tried to push him away, but he was like a statue, unmoving and unyielding. The panic rose up in me, making my heart pound in my chest.
And then, suddenly, he released me. I stumbled back, feeling like I'd been dropped into cold water. Vincenzo's smile was back, but it was colder now, more calculating.
"Let's get one thing clear, Selina," he said, his voice dripping with menace. "You're mine now. You'll do what I say, when I say it. You're not a guest here. You're a possession."
I felt like I'd been slapped. The words stung, making my eyes water. But I refused to cry, refused to show him how much he was hurting me.
I straightened my back, looking him dead in the eye. "I'll never be yours," I spat, trying to sound braver than I felt.
Vincenzo's smile grew wider, his eyes glinning with amusement. "We'll see about that," he said, his voice low and husky.
And with that, he turned and walked away, leaving me standing there, feeling like I'd just been thrown into a pit of vipers.
I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself down. I was not going to let him win. I was not going to let him break me.
As I turned to leave, I saw a figure watching me from the shadows. A woman, with piercing green eyes and skin as pale as the moon. She was watching me, her gaze intense and unyielding.
And then, she smiled.
