“Are you sure you’re at a restaurant?” Liam’s skeptical voice came through the other end of the line.
Why was he asking?
My heart skipped a beat.
“Yes. I’m at the restaurant,” I replied after a small pause. “Why are you asking?”
“And you’re with Mia?” He added.
My grip around the phone tightened.
My eyes scanned through the restaurant, checking to see if he was there. Landon stepped out to make a phone call, so I was the only one sitting at the table.
“Yes. I’m with Mia,” I answered, my voice tight.
Liam sounded like he was about to say something, but ended up letting it slide. “Okay. Have a great night.”
I opened my mouth to say something, but the call disconnected immediately.
