Raphael sighed and rubbed his tired eyes. He’d spent too much time reading, and even though he could easily see himself living in this chair, he needed rest. He was surrounded by historical artifacts about which the scientific community knew nothing.
He had heard about Damien Adler. He was the founder of the Demon Resistance, and one of the worst people who ever lived, according to history books.
Six hundred years ago, it was Raphael’s predecessor, Taviel Azelys, who put down the civil war after the Demon Rebellion, led by Damien Adler.
History has immortalized Taviel Azelys in paintings and public monuments as the next ancestor after Elden and Alirie, who had struck down the demon scourge. The artist didn’t miss adding white wings on his back, too.
