Chapter 16Raphael After waking up, Raphael heard the front door opening and closing. He got out of bed and looked out the window. Gabriel had left the inn and was heading to the local market, holding a folded cloth bag in hand. How utterly domestic, not at all like him. Gabriel wasn’t even attempting to hide his face. What was he thinking? He almost lost his life last night and here he was, walking in the sun with no protection of his identity. So careless. Then again, ICRA probably already knew who he was. His identity might be why they were after him. Having information on the former Second Heir of Heaven should be valuable for information brokers. But why kill him then? No, ICRA did not know who he was. There must be something else. Why would information brokers want someone dead?
