Marriage of Convience with an Idol

Chapter 3 - The Marriage

Laurene was currently signing some papers in her room, she had just come home since she drop Dohyun at his university while she decided to have brunch with Daeun near their company. Tomorrow is her wedding day and here she is now planning how in the world would she manage her company now that she's gonna get married soon to a stranger.

Leslie knock on her door and Laurene just told her to come in as Leslie did "Here's some tea for you. Your wedding dress should be here tonight, do you want to meet your makeup artist?" Laurene looked at her Mom who sat in her bed but smiled "Can you just surprise me?" Laurene asked causing her Mom to nod happily "Baby, I know is hard to sink in right now. But, I just want you to know that this is also for you, for us, and for your future" Laurene nodded remembering what her brother told her.

Laurene already know that she will be married to a girl when she knew that she really wanted to back out, she's not into girls since like she said she wanted to have some kids in the future. But, Jiyong explained to her about her daughter's situation but still... She had a conversation with her Mom privately. She came back to reality when she remembered what her dad told her, love is love. She could love any gender that she likes whatever it takes. Laurene just slides it off, besides maybe it really her future to be married of the same gender.  

"I know, I'm just thinking how will I manage the company now that I'm gonna be married especially she's an idol" Leslie nodded also thinking a way on how will she really handle everything all her business was in Los Angeles "We will think about that after your wedding alright? You don't have to worry all of Jennie's circle of friends are good and besides they are just the ones who will attend your wedding" Laurene nodded while looking at her Mom.

She just needs one thing she wishes for this arranged marriage she wants it closed doors, no reception just straight to vows. She doesn't want it to know to media and also it was also her spouse safety coming to know that Jennie is a freaking famous idol and she doesn't want to break everything yet because she will be in an arranged marriage.

Leslie and Chaerin helped Laurene planning about her business and talk about the plans. They just decided to talk about it today since both Jiyong and Chaerin came. Laurene told them that right after the wedding she will be leaving because Suzy just contacted her that she needs to interview some new interns, new employees a lot of clients waiting and meetings. Which both adults nodded in agreement. Besides, Jennie for sure will understand her.

They decided that Laurene will probably visit L.A. if she has some important things to do. Besides, she has a lot of workers she will be having a really big meeting assigning some new workers managing this and that because she knew to herself that she will be spending a lot more time in Korea since first of all, she will be handling some auditions in 5 companies and doing a survival show that it will take for more than 6 months and after that, she will come back to L.A. to be trained by some professionals.

But little did Laurene know her Mom Leslie has a big surprise for her, they are currently on their way to their big surprise. Suzy was beside Laurene who's currently looking at the window she was confused because there are two familiar cars in front of them and behind them  "Where exactly are we going?" Laurene asked Suzy but looking at her Mom and Dowon "You'll see boss" Suzy winked that she can't contain her own happiness. The girl just went silent really thinking where the hell is they going.

"What is this place? Woah it's cool" Laurene was amazed at how big the building is. She saw some busy people on their phones, reading some files, running because they are late for their work or busy with their phones. She also saw that their attire was very expensive. Good thing she wears her luxury business attire.

"Now, we have arrived" Laurene furrowed her brows when Dowon stopped the car "Where?" The unknown girl asked "397-5 Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea" Laurene's brows were furrowed and blinking many times she was confused, her Mom came out from the car gesturing one of Laurene's bodyguards to open the car door for her.

"Miss Walton, You may come out" Laurene looked at the Man "William?" Laurene asked confusedly "What in the world are you doing here?" Laurene said getting out of the car as Suzy is fixing her attire "Romel? Aren't you guys supposed to be at L.A.?" The girl asked but she saw four more of her professional bodyguards coming out from the car. She asked her Mom what's going on but she managed to shut up when she saw the freaking huge building.

It was luxury, just like what she wanted and what she dreamed of it to look like. A lot of people were in the staircase, they were non-Korean and mostly also it was her employees in Los Angeles. But there are new workers and they are Koreans. There are a total of six bodyguards and Laurene was surrounded by them this was just like the feeling when she was opening her own business and the video that she watched when her Dad opened his modeling agency. Suzy was beside her calming her down because she could feel that Laurene was sweating and nervous.

The bodyguards started and Laurene started walking with them, she knows what to do. She's the CEO and she knows everything. Once they stepped into the staircase all of the workers are bowing for the respect they stopped when they are at the entrance. William and Romel opened the entrance and Laurene gasped at how huge it is, but she realized that this is what she wanted for her new building, she remembered she drew this, and with that she got confused more.

They walked inside still in that kind of position, she also saw the familiar faces the CEOs she signed with also bowing at her once they reached the very front there was a picture of her Dad and her. There were a lot of chairs and there was a big tv screen.

Laurene sat in the front as Suzy sat beside her. The video played and to her surprise, it was a picture of her and Ben, Laurene smiled. It was a video wherein she is still a baby and now a full grow up girl. Ben explains how she became successful and how proud he is. Laurene couldn't help but tear up Suzy handed her the tissue.

"The building that you are in right now my lovely daughter. Is for you, The building that you are stepping in right is yours which we named  Walton's Entertainment and Modeling Agency. I stole your design that you were making for almost a month and the digital art that you made on your laptop. I secretly decided to center that in South Korea, knowing your spouse is from that country. If you drive for 20 minutes more you will see your spouse's entertainment. But, this is my last gift for you. The building that you've been really dreaming of. Now that it's built please make someone be a star and mentor them. I love you so much sweetheart" The video ended and everyone is clapping their hands while Laurene is crying, she couldn't believe that even though her Dad is too sick he still managed to do this for her. She was supposed to build this in New York but to her surprise, it was in Korea already but she doesn't mind at all right now.

"This was built by my Dad," she said to herself.

Her Mom hugged her tightly and Dowon is rubbing her back. Laurene was sniffing non-stop and Leslie is telling her that everything will be fine and just enjoy her work more often. She pulled out the hug and Laurene smiled when her Mom is wiping her tears happily. Laurene's friends also arrived still with their luggage and she laughed because they look so cute. They give them a hug and talked to them a bit.

Finally "Miss. Walton" The CEO of YG said Laurene smiled "Mr. Yang" she took his hand for a handshake and pulled out she just talked to the CEO of the two entertainments and this is the last person that she needs to talk to "Congratulations"

"Thank you very much, I believe you are  Daeun's boss?" Laurene asked grabbing some champagne to the waitress "Yes and your soon-to-be wife" Laurene nodded and told him that the audition will be moved 1 month after the wedding.

"Is there anything I need to know handling an idol when it comes to marriage?" Laurene asked  "I really don't mind especially Jennie's dating ban has been lifted up, they could do whatever they want and be married whenever they like. It's gonna be her decision if she wants to make it public and show you to the media. You can also go with her whenever she had some schedules and things to finish" Laurene nodded telling Yang to continue "Well, their contract will end next year. But, they are gonna be renewing especially they are more getting famous" Laurene nodded "So, I don't have any problem to deal with?" She asked

"No, just be the wife material," Yang said causing him to laugh when Laurene just shake her head in disbelief while smiling. She just can't believe that she will be married to an idol.

The day has continued, Laurene gave herself a tour of the building to check if everything is doing okay, the elevators are working and the important rooms that she needs in the building to her surprise it was all complete and ready to go. They ended their day with a happy face. Laurene decided to go with her friends to have dinner and have a bit of a drink beside Daeun's dorm with her members.

Besides, the church will be a bit close and Laurene decided to just stay there so she doesn't have to use the car.

"So, your wedding will be tomorrow. How are you feeling?" Gabbie asked, Laurene just shrugged her shoulders while drinking her wine straight and pour another one. Even though her brother was there to advise her she still couldn't feel anything as of now. She likes she just wants to walk away and never come back.

"You know, you can just back out if you really don't want to. I mean, they are like controlling your life but -" Ellie was cut off by Laurene "No, I need to. Regret will be in me forever if I didn't, the company that I have right now here in Korea was built by my Dad he manage to steal my design because it was his gift for me. To be honest, I really want to back out. I want to just go back to Los Angeles but I can't know I'm trapped here already" Her friends sighed and nodded slightly they could feel Laurene's sadness

"You know whatever happens we will always be there for you, even though you know you're marrying an idol I know no one's gonna stop us from seeing you. But I just want to remind you that, even though you're married nothing's gonna change because your surname just changed not your life well your life will change if you both fall in love with each other, make a family that wouldn't be a problem with us, to be honest. It's really a good thing" Mai said assuring Laurene, she was a big pop fan and she knows how crazy in love is Jennie to her it was all over in the media every time Jennie will be having an interview with something.

Laurene doesn't know about it because she wasn't really looking at it and is not into pop so she doesn't know what's happening in the world, whoever is crushing on her and doesn't know someone really admires her. But going back, Laurene just noted that in her mind. Maybe, that girl will be really her future, maybe she really is the one.

The night was full of advice and sweetness well even though it was arranged they are congratulating her because it's still her wedding day right?

On the other hand, Jennie was just looking at Laurene's picture while her members are drinking some wine. The girls are very excited since Chaeyoung told them who will be Jennie's spouse, Chaeyoung knew about this because her sister was Alice the lawyer. She was the one who handled the marriage contract her sister just plead with her not to tell anything to Jennie because her parents wanted to surprise her.

"Can I just run away?" Jennie asked looking at Laurene's picture and drinking her wine "Can I just find the girl of my dream and never come back in here? I just want to be with her and I never want to let her go" She said the three girls just shakes their heads.

"Jen, don't overthink about this okay? Just be ready for tomorrow and finish everything. You know maybe you could divorce her right after the wedding and you can leave and find your Laurene" Jisoo joked, of course, it is a joke. Jennie wouldn't do that if she knew she will be married to her long-time crush.

"Just go for it Jen, We don't know but maybe Laurene is already married secretly and has her own family" Lisa joke and regret it instantly when Jennie threw her some daggers "Oh yeah right Imma shut up before you kill me" Jennie really doesn't want to think about that knowing Laurene is a famous CEO there must be really had a high chance that Laurene is indeed married.

"You know, whatever happens, tomorrow just accept it. I mean, it's here and you really can't run away from it knowing a lot of people will probably be there and support you with your marriage. Whoever that person is I know someday you will love her or maybe just love your parents more because they arranged you with someone you really like and love" Roseanne mumbled the last one causing Jennie to just shake her head.

"Whatever happens, My love for Laurene wouldn't change. She will be mine whatever it takes and no one would stop me. Even though I get married my love towards Laurene will not fade even though Mrs. Leslie's daughter is deadly in love with me, I will forever be in love with my crush" Jennie said causing her friends to shake their heads her friends were really happy for her knowing she is indeed in love with her future wife Laurene.

It was officially the wedding day, the church and the priest were already ready with everything.  Dohyun and Daeun were already in their places since they wanted to admire their sister.

Laurene was looking at herself in the mirror, she looks like a princess, her wedding gown was so expensive that it was designed by her Mom and Chaerin, and even paid for it. Laurene was like a goddess, when you see her you just want to make her yours instantly.

"Baby, Are you ready?" Leslie asked while coming to the room "Wow, you look so beautiful, honey. Look at you, you're like a princess. Our princess" Leslie said looking at her daughter, she looked at Laurene and sighed "Baby, always remember nothing will change okay? I will always be here for you" Laurene nodded trying not to tear up, Dowon showed up and smiled at her "You look stunning" He said causing Laurene to smile and give him a hug "Shall we go?" He asked, Laurene, nodded and clung to him while Leslie looked at them lovingly.

Meanwhile, Jennie was just standing lazily not really minding that the wedding will start. She really doesn't have any mood to as of now she wants to go home and sleep but her friends told her to stand up straight and be the Jennie Kim she is. Jennie just scoffed at them but she realized that there were cameras. She quickly stands up straight and be herself, she doesn't want to think that she's not respecting everything.

The door of the church opened, The guests stood up. Jennie was curious so she decided to take a look at her bride. She really don't see it clearly but once the bride was getting closer her face was getting more familiar.

By just the height, the hair, the body, and the hands that she was really turned on she have high hopes that this is Laurene. Once the bride is just three meters away from her. Her heart started beating faster, her breath hitched, she instantly felt butterflies in her stomach when she saw who it is.

'It's her, I'm marrying my crush' Jennie doesn't know but a tear was left to her eyes and once Laurene was close to her she couldn't contain her happiness, she was so gorgeous, perfect and she really is the girl that she wants to marry for the very start.

Jennie bowed to Dowon and Leslie for respect as Leslie gave a kiss on Jennie's cheek while she shake Dowon's hand, she took her hand out for Laurene to take. Laurene looked at her Mom and Dowon and they nodded and smiled, she sighs she looked at Jennie and smiled a bit causing Jennie's heart to beat faster, she took Jennie's hand.

'It was soft as I imagined' Jennie said to her mind as they went to the altar. Her friends couldn't wipe the smiles on their faces they felt that Jennie is indeed happy and wanted to shout in the whole world that she's marrying her crush.

Laurene, on the other hand, doesn't know what to feel, but to be honest, when she saw Jennie her heart skips a beat and she found Jennie hot, she is just like she found the ideal guy for her but a girl version. She has the look, the height that she wants, the body, and everything. She just doesn't know if Jennie is the kind and loving girl she shows to her fans.

She really searched Jennie on the internet she finds her beautiful in the first place but she realized she is more beautiful in person. Should she thank them for it? Or not yet? We don't know right? Laurene doesn't really know how this person would really treat her.

The wedding is already starting and they are exchanging their vows.

"I, Jennie Kim, take you Laurene Walton to be my wife to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us apart...I love you" Jennie mumbled the last part while looking at Laurene straight in the eyes while the ring is being already in her left hand in her ring finger.

Laurene took Jennie's left hand, looking at the ring that there was her name in it. She sighed 'This is it'

"I, Laurene Walton, take you Jennie Kim to be my wife to have and to hold from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, too and to cherish; from this day forward until death does us apart," Laurene said trying not to shake up, she was nervous.

The priest pronouns that they are officially married, of course, the kiss was on the lips and Jennie almost die on the spot, it was memorable for her while Laurene just felt like it was the right thing to do and she even think that her lips taste delicious.

Laurene is now officially a Kim, her friends congratulated her, Chaerin and Jiyong welcomed her to the family while Jennie was also welcomed by Leslie and Chaerin she was also surprised that her sister-in-law is Daeun her dongsaeng, and also met Dohyun that she promised she will take care of Laurene and she also met Laurene's circle of friends, even Suzy.

Laurene met her wife's members. Laurene was very shocked at how gorgeous they were, the girls kept telling her that Jennie will take care of her really well because if she didn't they will surely kill Jennie if not, she even met Jennie's older brother named Kai, his wife Krystal and their child named Junwa. Laurene was welcomed into the family and she felt like this is a good sign. Laurene just laugh and slides it off when Jennie's family members told her they will kick Jennie's ass if she didn't take care of her since this is the beginning and she doesn't know if Jennie is gonna be the wife material that she is and will truly love her unconditionally.

It was time for the wedding picture of course the first one was just Jennie and Laurene. It was just like a normal wedding picture of the two of them which has so many angles and the next one is with Jennie's family first,  Jennie even took Junwa in her arms while Laurene just smiled brightly, because she has to right? The next one is in Laurene's family of course. And the last one is with Jennie's members with a lot of takes and lastly Laurene's friends with Suzy and Alice.

Since there is no reception they all went straight to the place where Laurene stayed. Laurene was in the room she just removed her wedding gown while her bodyguard and Suzy is piling up the gifts that her friends bought for her even Jennie's members. She could hear some commotions downstairs they believe it was Mai and Jennie's members because they were jamming in one of their songs since Mai is a big kpop fan.

Laurene's bodyguards left and the girl was left with Suzy who sat beside Laurene and looked at her "What should I call you now? Mrs. Kim or still Ms. Walton?" She joked causing Laurene to laugh and shake her head "As long I want to be called Ms. Walton, you might need to change that. It's very disrespectful if all of my employees didn't especially one of my employees are coming from Jennie's parents. They might throw daggers at me when they knew that you weren't calling me Mrs. Kim" Laurene said and Suzy laughed as Laurene sighed.

"How are you feeling? Are you okay?" Suzy asked looking at her boss "To be honest with you, I don't feel anything as of the moment. I just want to thank God for now since the wedding was finished and I'm married to someone who I really didn't know. As of now, I just want to think she's like my partner in crime or something" Suzy nodded, she already knew what are Jennie's plans Alice told her before the wedding since they heard Jennie talking about Laurene last night in a drunk way that she will truly take care of her and love her unconditionally in case she really got married to Laurene.

Well not that it happened, Jennie couldn't be more thankful and she was thanking her parents nonstop.

"Everything will be okay, I know Jennie is a good person. You wanna know something?" Suzy asked Laurene "I really have a huge secret" Laurene furrowed her brows and told her to continue "I had a one night stand with one of her members" Laurene gasped in shock as Suzy is nodding at her "but be quiet, she doesn't know that I'm the one  who she had when she was so drunk" Laurene shake her head and chuckled "I can't believe my secretary is going to some bars and have a freakin hard drink and do some one night stand" Suzy laugh and shake her head

"That's life. You just need to enjoy everything and be thankful for the blessings" Laurene nodded in agreement "Anyway, I should go. I'll leave you for a moment, I need to fix your flight" Laurene nodded and said goodbye as Suzy left.

Laurene was about to lay down when the door opened.

"Hey.."
