Chapter 11

Lunch was nice. Selena is an amazing cook. After we settled back in the living room we started to discuss what happened to our packs. It was heartbreaking on their side to. They are the only four left. Mike was a pack warrior, Dominic the delta, and poor Sam was the Alphas fourth son. I was curious though. Why was Mike taking lead if Dominic was the one next in line. Sam being the forth child of an alpha and barely being 18 I understood he wasn’t experienced enough but I figured Dom would have naturally took over, but truthfully it’s none of my business.

I felt like because they were honest with me that should be honest with them. So I told them my story and found out they were very similar. In the middle of the night the rouges came and attacked. We don’t know why they just did, and they wouldn’t stop. Sams father commanded all of them to run and to protect him. I felt bad for them knowing they all wanted to fight but you can’t fight an alphas command. Poor Sam. I know he felt survivors guilt. They told me as soon as the command lifted they ran back but it was to late, everyone was dead.

I knew how it felt being the only one. My heart broke for them. It’s only been a little over a month since my pack died to so I know personally how hard it is.

“ So what’s next for you?” Mike asked.

“ The rouge I interrogated told me that they hit 3 other packs across the US. I’ve decided to check them out and try to find some more leads.” I tell them. “What about all of you?”

“Well we figured it's time to leave and find a new pack. Mike has some family in Mississippi.” Selena says with a soft smile.

“ I want to come with you,” says Sam as he stands up. I was so surprised that I just stared at him for a minute still trying to process what he said. Selene started to argue with him. She sounded like a worried big sister. Part of me was wanting to deny his request. I figured I’d work better alone, but thinking about for a minute I couldn’t help but think that we are both wanting to accomplish one goal. This path of revenge is not mine only but theirs. Who am I to deny him?

“Ok, “ I tell him. Everyone in the room goes quiet. I see Sam smile for the first time. Before Selena can say anything someone else says something that surprises me.

“ I’ll be coming to,” says Dominic.looking at him stunned but still managed to nod letting him know I’m ok with it.

“Dom! What makes you think we can part ways like this! We are family! We are all we have left. I can’t loose you! Neither of you!” Selena starts to cry. Mike is holding her but not saying anything. Suddenly I see Dominic face soften and kneel down to look at his sister.

“ I love you and I promise to come back when it’s all over. But I have to avenge her Selena. Lily deserves justice and Sam will need me by his side. “ Dominic’s cold mask fell for a minute when he looked at his sister. He looked so fragile but only for a second. She suddenly nodded understanding her brother.
