Chapter 3- The Transitioning

From behind him, One of the guys pulled out a knife and stabbed him by the side, that was when I lost all sanity and ran towards them. In a split second i was there and grabbing the guy that had just stabbed my brother by his throat. I don't know where I got the strength from but I lifted him by the throat off the ground and held him up.

"How dare you!" I yelled throwing him against one of the walls, then I rushed to Josh who was now on the floor bleeding. "Josh." I called carrying his head in my hand. "Stay with me Josh." I say putting his head on my knees. I pulled out the kimono i was wearing and tied it around him to soak the bleeding.

"Wow!" The group leader exclaims. "The precious big sister Josh never stops talking about is here."

"Just leave. I'll forget this happened and won't press charges." I say to them

He laughs, so did the rest of them.

"You think I came this far to hear that? The police are everywhere looking for me, and without that money i can't go anywhere. I'll need to bribe my way out of this stupid city but your stupid brother didn't bring the money."

"How much do you need? I'll write you a cheque." I say to him. "Or make you a transfer."

"I needed just some hundreds of dollars. But now, I think I'll make it a million."

"Deal." I say tying up my brother and pulling out a phone. Your account details."

He stares at me, then laughs. "Why take just a million when I can take everything you have plus you. You're very pretty enough so I bet some force men would agree to let me pass the border in exchange for some hours with you, of course that's after i have had my own satisfied time with you."

The snake around my wrist hissed while Astropos growled inside me.

"Did you just growl at me?" He asks walking forward. He forcefully grabs my chin with his right hand. "Fine. I'll kill your brother then I'll f**k you until you're lifeless, then I'll have my boys do same. After that, I'll drag your half lifeless body to the borders and let all the force men there f**k you too." He pushes my face away. "Sam!" He called.

The one called Sam moved forward and pulled out a knife, lifting it up, he aims for my brothers heart but I stop him. As quickly as if am the wind, I take the knife and stab him on the thigh before pushing him down. He screamed in pain.

Turning to face them. "Whosoever wants to lay a finger on my brother must go through me first." I warn.

"Fine. It'll make you worth all the stress anyway. Get her!" He says to his boys.

They all came at once. The rope around my hand came alive so i pulled it out and whipped it at the guy leading the charge. The rope coils around his neck and I pull him to myself. With one twist of my hand, his neck broke, I left him and turned to the rest. One was already throwing a punch at my face but I missed it, the next thing I knew, I was behind him, as soon as he turns around i hit him at the crook of the neck and he falls down. Where the moves were coming from, I had no idea. I just kept moving as though I've been in the military all my life.

Two of them try to grab me by the hands but instead my hands seize them by the neck and pulls them in front of me.

"Somnum !" The girl in my head says to them and immediately they all fall down and sleep. There was just one guy and the leader left now. "Walk away, and I still won't press charges." I told them.

The guy gives me an evil smile before he walks sideways and hits a bell thrice. The last bell had not gone off when I saw dozens of armed men approach us from both sides.

"He should have just brought the money." The leader says with a smile at the side of his mouth.

"You should have just left when I told you to." I growled at him. He must have seen something in my eyes as he looked at me because I see him freeze in fear before screaming at his boys to attack.

I finally allow the snake around my right wrist to crawl out and it jumped at one of them around his neck. Tightening my hold on the whip I fling it at them and pull two of them to me.

"ea pugna!" I say to them my eyes glowing. I release the whips grip on them and they immediately turn around and begin to fight their men.

"Attack her at once." The leader screamed at them and they did, with knife and sticks and rots in their hands.

I don't know how it happened but their eyes began to glow just like that of the driver had glowed that night before he ramped his car into mine.

'His men are here. Ishaka's men are here ' The lady and Astropos said in my head.

"Who is Isha -" Before I could complete the question, I saw the leader of the group, his eyes were glowing too, a deeper shade, and he had black smoke all around him.

"Attack!" He screamed pointing at me.

I went vicious. My nails turned to claws as I ran towards them attacking them by the neck. Astropos fought for dominance to take over but I couldn't let her. I don't want to believe I'll turn to a wolf, but I've read too much of such stories to leave that probability. With all that has been happening recently, more than sixty percent of me believe I could or may turn into one. So no Astropos, I can't let you take over.

I moved as the wind attacking them both with the whip and claws, my snake was still out there attacking. I tried as much as I could not to kill any of them, but I made sure to give them wound deep enough to leave them unconscious.

One of them pulled up my brother and held a knife just an inch away from his neck. Letting go of the last victim my whip had caught, I strolled towards him.

"Don't move or I'll kill him." He says taking the knife closer.

I stopped and raised my hands up, the whip coiled back on my wrist. I looked at my brother who was lost so much blood from the earlier stab, any moment from now and he'll loose consciousness. I have a first aid kit in my car, all i need to do is get him out of here and take him to my car so I can stitch him up.

"Let me have my brother and I'll leave." I said to him.

"I said don't move."

Sighing, I close my eyes, the next thing any of them knew, I was behind the guy who had my brother. Even before he could turn around, I hit him on the neck and he falls down unconscious. I catch my brother before his body slumped against the hard floor.

"Mei !" He called weakly.

"I've got you little brother." I tell him. "I'll just get you out of here and home. Okay!" I say then look up at the remaining men. "Just let me and my brother go, that's all I ask."

They began to whisper amongst themselves in a strange language and strange enough, I could understand everything they said.

"Master wants her alive."

"We need to take her."

"She hasn't awakened yet."

They kept whispering in what sounded like Greek or was it Latin. They were no longer normal men, they were spirits. This was no longer about my brother or the money. Whosoever they were before, I believe they've been possessed by something and they now wanted me.

"Whoever you are, whatever you want, just let us go. Please." I begged.

"Take her." The leader said in a deep dark voice. He seemed to be in charge even now that they were possessed. They came rushing for me again.

Putting down my brother, I stand up. Fine! If they won't let me leave with my brother, I'll have to make sure they can't stop me from leaving. But Josh needs immediate medical attention.

"I've called an ambulance." The voice in my head said.

Nodding, I began to attack the remaining men. I was just snapping the neck of the last guy when the leader fired a gun at me. I missed. He has a gun! Angrily, I rush for him and he keeps firing the gun but I miss them. Finally, I grab him by the neck, he growled and I growled back. I heard Josh scream just before I felt something pierce my heart, I Iooked down at the leader and saw him smiling, looking down at my heart, I saw a sword stuck there. He was still smiling when I used my right claws to separate his head from his neck. He fell down limp on the floor.

The snake returned and coiled back around my right wrist returning to nothing but a drawing. I was turning around to head for Josh when I threw up blood and fell to my knees.

"Mei !" Josh called panicking from where he was lying down.

I held the knife and tried to pull away but the last thing I heard before darkness consumed me was the sound of Josh screaming my name, the ambulance siren from few blocks away and whispers of a thousand voices in strange languages.

I blacked out!
