The others moved back, watching them as if they were part of a zombie movie. They all gave Elvis the accusing look that made him stand far away from them as if he were afraid they would all collectively pounce on him as well.
“We're in this mess together, all right? No one has to know about this. It's not like he's of any importance, so we will just dispose of his body and move on like this never happened. Are we good?” Francis stood up, giving each of them a quizzical glance.
“How do we go about it? It's not going to be easy moving his body,” Carter commented and went to check if someone was around. He stepped back in and locked the door.
“Why don't we make it look like he committed suicide?” Elvis stepped in, looking at each one of them.
“It's not about making suggestions! The question is how do we do it? There's no time and someone could come in here anytime! We have to clean up this mess before it gets messier!” Billy said as he stood up and adjusted his trousers.
“We can't do anything now, let's find something to wrap him up and clean up the blood stains. Then we go back to class, when school is over, maybe when everyone has gone home and it's dark, we would come back, drag him to the rooftop, and make it look like he jumped. We would text his father a suicide message… anything to keep us in the dark.” Francis suggested hastily.
“Yes, we should do that.” They all exchanged understanding looks.
They went according to the plan and left the battered boy to his cruel fate, but when they came back in the night to dispose of his body, they couldn't find Richard's body where they had left it.

“Cocky, quit pretending and save your boy's life! Haven't you come a long way to lose him now?” Landon grabbed Mr. Hendrick's shoulders.
He has always been there right from the moment Richard was born nineteen years ago. He is his soul curator. He had secretly fought off spirits that haunted the boy; they had killed his mother during childbirth, and they also sought the boy because they knew he had superpowers.
What they had destroyed, he was blessed to fix. What is believed to be ruined, he has come to revive and every miraculous healing would come from the wonders of his magical abilities.
An amulet from his mother was all he needed to activate his powers and save him from dying, but Cocky Hendrick hid it away after Landon gave the boy to him to raise because he was afraid of losing him, hoping to make him the son he never had. Hoping to protect him and never have anyone come to claim him back, but this has happened. Richard is dying and he has to save him.
“You took away the amulet to save him from spiritual forces, now what about those bullies at school that could've killed him if I hadn't been there on time? It's high time you come back to your senses and know that I won't take him away, but he has to know the truth about himself and live his true life.” Landon pulled Cocky close to Richard's body so he would see the boy's condition.
“Fine, let me go. I will bring it to you,” Hendrick accepted, and he released his hold on his shirt.
“Lead the way then,” Landon said, staying close to him, not ready to let him run away if he chose to be a coward.
“Fine, whatever you want.” He mumbled as he went into his room and started pushing at the foot of his bed.
Landon hissed and helped him out until the bed was at a corner of the room, and a small iron door was revealed right under the carpet that covered the flooring.
“I need a hammer, I threw away the key.” Cocky rolled his eyes as he rummaged through some home-working tools scattered around the room.
“What were you thinking doing that? We have no time, and you are making matters worse,” Landon frowned at him.
“Found it,” Cocky announced grumpily and knelt beside the iron door. He lifted the hammer to hit the key, but Landon snatched it from him and did the job himself.
“You're so f**king slow!” He scuffed when he looked at him.
Cocky stood back and watched him break the iron door, then threw the small door open and saw a wooden box. He didn't need to be told that it contained the path to Richard's inheritance and massive wealth.
He unlatched the box locker and brought out an old amulet. It had been locked away in the wooden box even before Richard was born, so it looked dusty, but when he rubbed it over in his palms, it looked better.
He moved to the room where Richard lay lifelessly and stood before him, then murmured little incantations. He lifted Richard's head and put the amulet over his head to his neck.
He stepped back, bumping into Cocky, whom he had no idea was already standing behind him, unnoticed. He muttered an apology, and he nodded, then they stood a few feet away from the old bed where Richard lay and watched in expectation.
Landon counted in his mind seventeen seconds before sparkles gathered around Richard's body, then joined together to form the sign on the amulet before it disappeared into the wounded parts of his body, over to his head and he sneezed a moment later.
Cocky rushed to him at once, sat beside him, and lifted his head to his lap, cradling his face in anticipation.
“He's going to wake up now, confused and dumber than you have ever known him to be. He will be a different person, much greater than millions of enemy agents that would want to take him down and conquer his people,” Landon explained to the worried man
Richard sprang up, almost knocking Cocky down with the strength with which he stood. Then looked around in confusion, first at his father, then at the doctor.
“What happened to me?” He asked, then touched his head where he was hit. He brought his hand down to stare at the b****y fingers, but he wasn't feeling any pain as a result.
“Why don't you think,” Landon stared into his eyes, daring him to go back to being tranced with the power of his gift.
“They bullied me!” Richard jumped at the remembrance of what had happened to him, grabbing his father's hands in fear.
“No! Not that!” Landon walked to him and gave his shoulders a brave squeeze. “Now, Richard, remember who you are and what you must do. I am here to protect you, that is why I was given this chance to live again, and that I shall do. I owe my life to you.”
“Father, what is he talking about?” He asked Cocky, then turned to face Landon again, “Aren't you the good doctor?”
“I am who you think I am,” Landon placed a hand on Richard's chest and mumbled incoherent words.
“Father, why are you so quiet?” Richard threw an accusing glare at Cocky who watched in a daze.
“You trust me, right?” Cocky asked him, holding his hands in reassurance.
When Richard nodded, he grasped his arms and told him to close his eyes and try to meditate.
“Shut everything else off your mind, just think about nothing and focus,” Landon said when he finally closed his eyes.
Richard obeyed, but he couldn't resist opening an eye to stare at the faces of the men who kept acting creepily. When he closed his eyes tightly, he instantly started seeing things and hearing voices. He shivered greatly, grasping for means to get out of the state which startled him.
Landon smiled proudly, happy that prophecy was being manifested and Richard would be able to understand who he was and his mission on Earth. He would serve his purpose, and they could be freed.
He was born for it, it's his destiny to bring back everything that was lost and forgotten and save everyone worthy.
In another moment, Richard's eyes opened instantly and he gazed into Landon's eyes. He nodded and stood up, then touched the amulet around his neck.
As if given directions by the voices in his head, Richard walked straight to a wall and then pressed his palms on it. With a sparkling of his hands, the solid wall magically disappeared to expose over fifty ironbound boxes.
“He made it to the first stage! He broke free! Yes!” Landon gave Cocky a bear hug as if he were his longtime buddy. “You've opened the door to the fortune of the legendary Hendrix!” He added, patting Richard's shoulder.
“What is next?”
