Chapter 1 LILY'S POV I hear the crunch of the gravel stones under the turn of the car wheels, and my heart starts to palpitating in a wild rhythm. I cannot stop myself from wringing my hands, nor can I keep looking at the mirror to see if I look presentable. I spray my mom’s Dior perfume onto my wrists and the base of my neck. The perfume makes my skin shine in a way. The fragrance rises like a cool morning mist and causes a voltaic shock to course through my veins.
