Chapter 32

CHAPTER 32 The night arrived. Aragorn waited for his comrades to sleep. He told Yosef about his plan to visit Sphyra. His comrades must be tired from training the whole day and he assumed that they will have a heavy sleep. Silently, he escaped the hut and the moonlight followed his shadows. Aragorn didn’t bring anything more than the long clothing that can cover the whole body except for the face, hands, and feet of someone. The coat is made up of flame-resistant cloth. He thought that this coat might help Sphyra to hide her burning hair and body during the night. Aside from it, he didn’t bring ore. He thought to himself that he’ll just run once he encounters a wild animal or a rebel. The light from the moon is the only source of light in the shallow forest. Everything is not visible from Aragorn’s eyes. Sometimes, he accidentally steps on frogs and other animals on the ground. He’s eager to try the plan the same night to Sphyra if it will work or not. He arrived at the part of the forest that reminds him of Sphyra. He hoped that Sphyra was still awake. Only the chirping of the birds and howling of an owl was the sounds that he can hear. He cleared his throat and shouted, “Eagles love to play with fire! Eagles love to play with fire!” A dog barked and with its voice, he knew it was Burn. He heard footsteps from his back and rotated his body. A glint of human-sized light gleamed through his eyes. He smiled at Sphyra. “Burn barked and I thought there’s a stranger in here. What brings you here, Prince Aragorn? It’s already a husky night and you visited me.” Aragorn’s eyes played around until it stuck on Sphyra again. “I miss you.” He’s more sincere than he thought. While training, Sphyra’s figure is playing on his mind. Seeing him would make him feel better. “I don’t believe you. There are a lot of women in the palace, how can you miss someone like me? An unloved creature.” It’s not because she’s a woman, he thought. It’s because he missed her. He missed the creature named Sphyra and not the woman named Sphyra. “I don’t need you to believe. I want to check on you and I’m glad that you’re doing fine.” Sphyra laid eyes on the clothing that Aragorn brought. “What is that?” Aragorn gave her the clothing. “It is a flame-resistant cloth that can hide your whole body except your face, hands, and feet. You can use it at night to hide the flame in your body. Fit it.” Sphyra wore the coat. Aragorn assisted her. In a few minutes, every fire that makes Sphyra eye-catching was hidden. “Aragorn, this works! I don’t look like a phoenix!” Sphyra turned around. Aragorn observed her. His idea worked! Sphyra looked like an ordinary woman. She’s very far away from being a phoenix. “You should stop being mad because of your eyes. If people get curious about your eyes, we can think of an excuse for that.” Sphyra felt free. She felt that all of her worries disappeared. She can now hide her blazing body at night with the clothing that Aragorn brought. She walked to Aragorn. Her arms wrapped around his hard body. Tears flowed from her eyes because of happiness. “Thank you, Aragorn. Thank you so much for making me happy!”
