CHAPTER 50 Aragorn had packed his satchel and his comrades to stay in the palace for two days. Since Leo would be busier with the external affairs of the palace of Caspian, he let the four of them remain in the royal palace because they can’t have their practice. “Leo, take care on your journey,” Aragorn said and patted Leo’s shoulders. “Sure, I will. Take care on your track. Don’t put yourselves in danger. I think the four of you already knew the things that I taught and the discipline that you should possess to become a warrior of this palace.” “We won’t let it leave our minds, Leo,” Yosef said. “Training would be more interesting if I’m not busy with the external affairs of the palace. There are mild conflicts with other palaces, and some are initiating away. You know that the king of Caspian doesn’t want a war to happen.” “I know you can do it, Leo,” said Azrael. They all nodded at each other. The four of them already rode the backs of their horses. It would be a long way back to the palace. Hope they won’t feel sleepy and tired in the way. “Leo’s hardworking, huh?” Azrael broke the silence in their midway. “He is. People wanted him to become the next king of Caspian because they said he’s doing better than Prince Aragorn,” Hideo replied. Needles attacked Aragorn’s heart. Hearing those statements from the citizens made him feel bad. He could’ve done better, but until now, he wasn’t feeling confident about his skills. He even didn’t know if he could face a person for peace negotiation. “They were hating Prince Aragorn for not catching the phoenix. They were so eager to put the prince on the verge of death. Luckily, the phoenix is our friend. But they shouldn’t say that Prince Aragorn doesn’t do anything beneficial to the palace. He’s so kind and makes a good and unbiased decisions. Look at Zonia; she’s now free from her wife because of Prince Aragorn.” “Don’t worry about that, Yosef. I can’t force anyone to like me. The pressure is on me for being the crowned prince of Caspian.” “It was rare for a king to change his decision once a prince became the crowned prince. King Argon is smart. He won’t let Prince Aragorn become the future king of Caspian if he doesn’t have any capabilities to do it.” Hideo smiled at Aragorn as if he was telling him that he believes in him. “I almost forgot to tell all of you that when I visited the royal palace the last time, Zonia said that she saw his husband near the royal palace. She said she sensed danger, and she was so scared of facing that man again,” Azrael stated. “That man didn’t just escape for himself, but to take revenge also. He wanted anyone that blocked his way will suffer. He escaped the punishment that I gave to him, and he’s up to Zonia and me.” “You should be careful, Your Highness. People want to chase and hunt you down, including that man, the rebels, and the one who created the fire in a village to put the blame on you,” Yosef warned. “Prince Aragorn is cunning. He knows how to protect himself, and we knew he won’t be in danger because we are here to protect him.” Even though they were separated by their horses, they slammed their palms together and smiled. No one can hurt the four of them and Sphyra. Anyone can dare, but not anyone can succeed. After an hour of the ride, they finally arrived at the royal palaces. They tied their horses near the grasses and walked inside, led by Aragorn. Servants that they were seeing were paying respect to them by a nod. They headed to the king’s throne, but the king wasn’t there. So, they went to the dining room, where the queen spends most of her time. When he opened the door, he heard shouts and celebrations, welcoming the four of them for returning. In the middle, he saw his mother. Beside her is the woman that he wanted to see first. Sphyra.
