Her Calling

Chapter Two

I apply a calming magic to the horse but it's too late. I flew in the air and landed on a moist grass. With a groan I stand up and glare at the horse.Urgh this is so unlucky day for me.If I know that it is hard to go to another place then I will not bother to listen to the voice that keep on whispering on my ear.

"Hey old man!" glaring at the horse will never to do anything, so I will deal again to it's master who is really a pain in the butt.

"Are you deaf? I'm calling you!" ah this geezer is he dead? Why on the world he's not answering me? I walk to the carriage and open it to reveal the man who's mouth is sealed by the vine.

"oh my bad old man." I didn't know the vine stopped wrapping on his mouth. I thought It stopped on his torso. With a wave of my hand the vine on his lips losen up.

"You know your horse wildly bring us here. In the middle of nowhere." he seems calm now but still the way he look it's enough to make you squirm.

"Are you not going to talk? " I asked after a couple of minute passed. It seems that he doesn't have a plan to talk to me. What his problem now?

" Silent treatment really? You know if you kept being like this I will not going to untangle you."

"Who are you?" I faced palm myself. Oh my goodness we are back again to this question.

"Are you serious?When I tell you who I am then we are okay already? You're going to be calm and kind to bring me along with you until we reach another town and drop me? "

"I'll think about that. "

"Hey hey you are not in upper position here." I reminded him incase he forgot.

"It doesn't matter. If you think that your pesky vine is making you safe from me then think again." hmmm really? Is he bluffing now? We both know that he is immobile now, but he's still acting tough.

"Sure sure whatever you sa—" my eyes is bulging from it's sockets. His sword is on his hand and it's absorbing my vines. In a split second he's free and I know what awaits me.

"So now are you ready to tell me the truth young miss? " there's a sly smile on his lips.He looks more scary now.I just now see how strong his build is even on his old aged.And his face looks rough too because of the beard and moustache which is graying.

"Am I?" he clicks his tounge sign of his annoyance of me.

"Are you half? " puzzled of his question, I stared at him. What he meant by that?

"Half? " I asked back.I notice he put back his sword on it's scabbard. Hmmm he's relax now? Good we can communicate properly now without him threatening me, which is empty threats for me. ofcourse.

"Is it your habbit to asked me back whenever I asked and plainly ignore my question and say nonsense.?"

"Well I'm confused. And when did I ignore you? I apologize didn't I? "

"I asked who are you young miss did you answer? he pushed me for him to walk passed me.Rude.

"Well it's not important who I am. " I answered while following him to his horse which he is now patting. The horse neigh as if recognising him.

"Well I asked." a sudden movement we heard and we both looked where it came from.

"You heard that? " I whispered say.If it's something we need to fight we'll be damn. I fully know that this place is sorrounded of different magical creatures and monster. It's is okay if it's only a beast but if the monster emerge then we have no choice but fight.

"What are you doing? " he quizically looked at me. I'm just securing his horse, maybe it will run away if a sudden event will happen.

"You see what I'm doing, don't ask." I fire back.

"Is it your comrade coming to attack after you send a signal? " damn this old man. He's still thinking of me being one of the bandits. What are they anyways, are they more dangerous that the monsters?

"If you're talking about them will I'm not. "

"I'm not quiet convince. Seeing you using your magic without incantion is a sign already."

"What are you talking about? I can use my magic by will, what incantation are talking about? You are the wierd one here, you have a strange sword who's absorbing magic!Maybe you are the bad guy here" I retort. He glared at but not that long cause a sudden movement again we heard and it's getting closer.

"Only half can do it! "

"Half what?! " I shouted frustrated. Ha maybe this is the way he feel when everytime I didn't give him answer.

"Or you are an advace wizard. But I doubt the latter. " he completely ignored me as he pulled he's sword and positioning his self for a fight.

I look at the direction of the sound, it's near and it just stopped at the Bush that devided us from where we are.

"Don't worry I'll know after if I s*******r

them. " he continued.

"Yeah sure whatever you say. " I also make myself ready for what to happen. Really going down from the mountain is a pain in the ass.

No one is moving now,. even in the other side is quiet, as if they're also calculating there moves. The old man is in the front of me ready to fight what is about to attack us, and me on his back making him my shield.

"Come out! " finally the old man shouted.The bush rattled when they advancing towards us.

"Beltor? " I moved from his back at looked at what he call Beltor. A gasped escped from my mouth.A five men is in front of us and a magical beast that I pushed out form his carriage. They have this massive sword on they're hand and have a wierd colored gem attached to it's handle. The magical beast yelp, that made me snap and jump back away from the old man.

"Who's the child Commander? " The Beltor guy asked. So the old man is one of them. Commander? Oh no no how many times should I be surprise today? Don't tell me this old man is the—

"Take her." he commanded.Before I can react one of the massive men caught my foot with a whip. I tried to free my foot but the more I move I feel my mana is draining. Damn damn damn. The whip is attached to my left foot is glowing red now.So it's like the the sword of the old man. I can't accept this I wouldn't go with them with out a fight.

Panick surge through me as I slowly dropping on my knees completely feeling tired and drained. This is it for me? They're not going to kill me aren't they?

"You don't know who I am yet old man. "I weakly utter before I couldn't hold it anymore and close my eyes. I hope I'm stay alive after this. And when that happen I'll will destroy this freaking whio first.
