TWO/STRINGS

666 Words
"Amora..." Daniel called softly, "Baby I'm sorry, I didn't mean to... I just got mad." Lies.He wasn't sorry. He never was. "Amora please, just open the door." He spoke gently as the door handle begin to twist and shake. I cowered back against the headboard of the bed, tears threatening to spill over my red rimmed eyes, as the bedsheets coiled around my limbs like a snake. "Leave me alone!" I cried, and a deafening bang sounded as Daniel threw himself against the locked door. "Open the f*****g door!" He yelled as yet another bang resonated, as he attempted to break the door down, the barrier that held my life by a string. A slight crack had began to form down the centre of the only thing that separated him from me as desperate pleading sobs began to flee my mouth, begging him to stop. But he didn't hear.He never heard my pleas. He only ever took. And he took what he wanted. The banging and crashes halted for a brief moment, as Daniel stopped his attack on the slowly cracking door. "Baby, I'm sorry... just please... let me in." He begged, as if worrying that he could break me with a mere wrong whisper. However he knew that he could shatter the delicate fragments of my resolve with nothing but a raised fist. He had done so before. And he would do so again. He would never let me forget the feeling of his violent touch, never withholding or relenting. The miserable sobs wracked my body, threatening to spill over the brim of unconsciousness as my head began to spin dangerously and flying black flecks dotted the outskirts of my vision. "I can't." I mumbled through the haze of tears that consumed my vision, making me unable to think, unable to flee. The door handle began to shake violently, "Amora if you don't open this f*****g door right now, I swear to god I'll beat you to death with my bare f*****g hands!" A blood curdling scream escaped from my lips as the door suddenly flew open and Daniel stormed in with bloodied fists, and furious eyes. I tried to back up further on to the bed to escape his reaches but I was only met with my back hitting the headboard painfully. It was a pain I could ignore.Unlike the pain that Daniel liked to inflict. Emotional.Mental.Physical. The type of pain that scared your mind into permanent remission. The type that meant there was no coming back. "I told you to open the damn door!" Daniel boomed, as the panic and anticipation of what was about to happen hit my body like a wave, threatening to drown me. I let out a small whimper, "I'm sorry-" I began, but was cut off as Daniel swung out with his fist, catching my cheek, and sending me sprawling onto the soft sheets of the bed. Pain. White hot pain raced through my face as I clutched my injured cheek. As my frightful glassy eyes met his, like a dear in the headlights I couldn't hold back the fear any longer. Trickles of silent tears began to tumble from my eyes, running their paths down my cheeks like sorrowful rivers, staining me with their misery, as I curled into a sobbing ball, refusing to meet his gaze again. "Amora..." He whispered, but his voice wasn't angry or coated in malice anymore, it was soft and gentle, attempting to soothe the emotional wounds that he caused, "I'm so sorry baby, I didn't mean to, I just lost control," My sobbing form tensed somewhat as his warm arms wrapped around me in a sorrowful embrace, him burying his head in the crook of my shoulder, inwardly making my skin crawl with disgust. "Amora, I love you." ***This book flows so nicely, some books I really struggle to write but so far this one is working as I hoped. Also don't worry, the chapter will get longer as the book progresses.Anyways...Don't forget to vote and comment!-
