I woke up to yelling. Sharp, angry voices cutting through the morning like claws. My heart jumped into my throat, and I bolted upright in bed. The packhouse was rarely this chaotic, even with the alpha around. And Asher… I could feel the storm of his anger from down the hall, even before I got out of our room. It was twisting me in knots as well. I threw on my robe, ignoring the cold creeping through my bare feet as I made my way downstairs. Every step closer to the living room made my stomach twist tighter. Something was very wrong. The yelling hit me fully the moment I reached the landing. Asher’s voice—loud, raw, unrestrained—clashed with the deep, commanding tones of his father. And then there was another voice, softer but with an edge I didn’t like at all.
