The first light of morning filtered through the trees as I stretched my shoulder, feeling the tightness in the muscles loosen. It wasn’t completely pain-free yet, but the bruises and the swelling from Spencer’s attack were gone. My shoulder felt strong, almost normal. Almost. And as soon as my shoulder was healed, Asher didn’t waste any time. I flexed my fingers and twisted my wrist. I had been waiting for this moment for a long time. No more excuses.
