Prince Alric stared down at the map, drawn in a crude hand, but at least it would serve to illustrate the plan he was about to present.
"General. Sir Preston and I have been talking."
"So I heard," said the baron. "Go on, then. Let's hear what this plan of yours entails. Saxnor knows our last one didn't go over so well."
Alric cleared his throat, nervous but at the same time eager to show he had ideas that could make a difference.
Baron Fitzwilliam, as if sensing his unease, tried to take some of the pressure off him. "There's no need to be shy, Highness. I'm listening with an open mind, not here to condemn you."
