Dean x Reader
Reader gets jealous when another female hunter Dean used to know joins in on a case.
Slamming the book shut you sat back in your chair and groaned. Huffing loudly you threw back both arms and attempted to stretch your sore back. Looking up from his own pile of books Sam grinned, "I assume you haven't found anything yet?"
Looking across the table you shot him a glare while sticking out your tongue. Laughing out loud Sam simply shook his head and returned to his research. You'd all been hunting something for the past week, the only problem was you still weren't sure what it was you were hunting. At first glance you would say wendigo from the way it took victims at random. But after realizing there were no places for one to hide out everyone decided to widen the suspect pool.
Standing and walking towards the small motel fridge you reached inside to grab a beer just as the door opened. Dean walked in looking like he'd just solved the whole case, sitting down in your vacant chair at the table he smirked. "Guess who just solved the whole case?"
Both you and Sam shared a look before staring at Dean, clearing his throat and sitting forward Sam tilted his head, "Wanna share with the rest of the class?'
"So I went to the last place the latest victim was found trying to find anything that would lead us to the bastard when I ran into an old friend. Sam you remember Lynsey?"
Moving to sit on the edge of the closest bed you scrunched your brow in confusion, Sam seemed to finally remember something and nodded, "Yeah she's that hunter we met back in Syracuse right? Three years ago?"
Dean nodded, "Yep, she decided to check out this case too, told her we should work together and get it done faster. We got to talking and turns out she figured out its not a wendigo, its vamps."
Leaning forward you tried to push aside the slightly jealous feeling of Dean talking to this Lynsey girl, "But none of the victims have turned up dead? Or drained of blood, vamps don't just take people for no reason."
Turning slightly to smirk in your direction Dean leaned back in his chair, "They do if their turning them."
Once again you shared a look with Sam, "It fits I guess, how did she figure it out? We've been pouring over everything for a week..."
A knock at the door interrupted you, jumping up Dean moved quickly to answer it. Opening the door your jaw nearly dropped at the beautiful hunter standing in the doorway. She had the body type any woman would kill for, strong and lean. She had long blonde hair and wore skinny jeans, knee high boots, and a black tank with a leather jacket. Basically she looked like a female version of Dean, you already hated her.
"Hey guys, mind if I come in?" Dean moved aside to let Lynsey in, upon seeing Sam she immediately moved forward to hug the younger Winchester. "Sam! Wow it's been too long."
Smiling Sam nodded and pulled back, "Yeah it has been, how've you been?"
"Doing good, you know how it goes, kickin ass and takin names wherever I'm needed." You couldn't help but notice how her eyes seemed to keep finding Dean even though she was talking to Sam. Standing and crossing your arms you cleared your throat, gaining everyone's attention.
Stepping forward you held out your hand and put on a fake smile, "Apparently these two forgot I existed for a minute, I'm Y/N." Lynsey reached forward to shake your hand, you noticed how her eyes cut over your favorite pair of pajama pants and old tank top, "Nice to meet you, sorry Dean never mentioned you."
Fighting back the urge to hit her you smiled, Sam could sense the tension and immediately decided to intervene. "So, vamps huh? Any idea where their keeping the victims?"
Lynsey removed her jacket and set it on the back of a chair as she walked forward to look over your notes. Picking up a small map of the town she began pointing out different locations. "So far as I can tell their in one of these two locations, ones a farmhouse and the other is an old factory. I figure we should scope out both and see what we're up against, if their making new vamps there's no telling how many there are."
Nodding in agreement you all made a plan to explore both places tomorrow, hoping Lynsey would leave you began putting away all the books you'd used.
"Hey Dean how about we go grab a drink, catch up on old times?" Pretending not to pay attention you silently hoped he would say no, unfortunately fate was not on your side.
"Hell yeah let's go! You guys wanna join?" Dean reached to grab his jacket as he looked to you and his brother. Shaking your head you gave him a half smile, "I'm gonna call it, still tired from all that reading." Sam nodded too, "Yeah same here, you guys have fun."
Shrugging Dean followed Lynsey out and a moment later you heard the impala pull away. Finishing putting everything up you turned to head towards the couch when Sam stepped in front of you, arms crossed. "What was that?"
Being your best friend Sam always knew when something was wrong, you told him everything, including your feelings for Dean. Stepping back and crossing your own arms you tried to fake ignorance, "I don't know what your talking about." Shaking his head Sam moved past you into the kitchen, grabbing a bottle of water he leaned back against the counter. "You practically tried to melt Lynsey with your eyes. You know she's really not that bad, although I'm getting the feeling it's not her personality your against."
Shoulders and arms dropping you knew there was no fighting it, moving to sit cross legged on the bed you turned to face Sam, "Were they ever a thing?"
Looking down at the ground Sam let out a sigh, "If by thing you mean one of Deans hookups, then yeah, they had a thing. But it was years ago Y/N, you know this jealousy thing wouldn't be a problem if you just told Dean how you feel. I know my brother and I'm pretty positive he feels the same way about you."
Not feeling up to having the same conversation you'd already had a million times you stood up and walked over to your makeshift bed on the couch. "Not gonna happen Sam, we've been over this, I'm not Deans type. I'm gonna get some sleep, you should too." Reaching over to turn off the lamp beside the couch you crawled under the scratchy blanket and faced the back of the worn out furniture.
Trying to overcome the racing images in your mind of Dean and Lynsey together you finally felt the pull of sleep take you. A few hours later you were woken up by the sound of the door opening, your instincts had you on edge until you heard the intruder walk into a chair in the dark room, "Son of a b***h!" The whispered curse was enough to calm you, knowing it was only Dean.
Pretending to be asleep you heard him walk into the bathroom, coming out a minute later you were surprised when he began walking past the couch towards his bed and stopped. Suddenly your blanket was picked up from where it had fallen on the floor and carefully draped back over your body. Freezing in place you were thankful for the dark room when Dean leaned down to place a kiss on top of your head, your face instantly catching fire.
Listening to him shuffle towards the bed you couldn't help the giant smile on your face, you could still feel his warm lips on your temple. Letting sleep take you once more you couldn't help but dream of happier thoughts.
Walking outside and locking the motel door you turned to face the other three hunters. "Okay what's the plan, there's two locations so why don't we split up and check them out at the same time. Anyone who finds something calls the others and we all go in together?" Everyone nodded, you looked up noticing Lynsey eyeballing Dean as though he were a piece of chocolate.
"How about girls versus guys? What do you say Lynsey, wanna teach these boys how its done?" Looking slightly disappointed for a moment she stood straighter and smiled, "Sure Y/N, let's do it." Waving goodbye to the boys you followed her to her car and sat inside. The drive to the farmhouse was awkward, only the occasional direction spoken.
Pulling up to the broken down building twenty minutes later you leaned forward, looking over the house and the barn behind it. Both looked as though a strong wind could carry them away at any moment. Getting out of the car and quietly shutting the doors you both shared a look. Keeping your machete strapped to your side just in case you began moving forward. Circling the house you groaned at the fact the windows were so dirty you couldn't see inside. Turning around you motioned for Lynsey to come closer.
"How about we make this quicker, you go check out the barn, I'll clear the house. Anything happens just holler, otherwise meet back here in ten?" Lynsey nodded and turned to head towards the red pile of lumber. Deciding to try the back door you began making your way around the house. Slowly opening it with one hand on your machete you didn't see anyone in the small kitchen. Leaving the door open and taking a few steps forward you jumped when you heard the door slam shut.
Spinning around and drawing your weapon you looked around the dim room but saw no one. A second later you heard a floorboard creak behind you. Just as you turned around something hard hit you across the face, knocking you out.
Waking up you were confused by your surroundings, the room you were in seemed like an old basement with no windows and a dirt floor. Looking up you realized you were shackled to the wall, your arms hanging above your head. Hearing a noise you looked to your left to see Lynsey in the same position you were, lifting her head she looked around until her eyes fell on you. "Well, guess we found the nest. Yay for team girls."
Rolling your eyes you began pulling on the chains, looking around you tried to see if there was anything you could use to pick the lock. The sound of a door opening drew both your attention forward. A man walked in with two more following. "Well well well, morning girls, sorry for the bit of roughhousing. Just easier on us if you don't fight back. Especially two pretty little hunters such as yourselves." Walking forward he knelt down in front of you, reaching forward you watched as he ran a finger over your forehead and pulled it back stained with your blood. Sticking it in his mouth you almost gagged at the smile on his face.
"You two are gonna make great additions to our family, and don't worry, we'll make it quick." Smiling at you once again and shooting a look at Lynsey he stood up and made his way back out the door, his lackeys following behind. As the door shut you once again began looking for a way out.
"Well, I guess it was about time for s**t to hit the fan, haven't been caught in a while though." Giving Lynsey a look you continued your search. Shaking her head she smiled, "You know the guys will be here soon, might as well sit back and wait honey. Dean never was one to leave a girl hanging." You stiffened at the mention of his name and she noticed, a smirk coming across her face.
"You don't like me, do you? Now seeing as we just met I can't really think of a reason why that would be, unless you felt threatened by another female hunter. I saw the way you look at Dean honey, it's painfully obvious how you feel about him." Looking around the room you continued to avoid her gaze.
"You know, Dean Winchester is one hell of a man, great hunter, great brother, and an absolute God in bed." Feeling a familiar burn at the back of your eyes you continued to look forward, refusing to give her any reaction. "Gotta say, when we get outta here I sure as hell wouldn't mind going another round with him before we part ways."
There it was, so Dean had slept with her last night. You couldn't help the sharp pain in your chest at the confession and looked away just as a tear fell. "Well lucky for you I bet he'll be sure to come looking for you." Mentally scolding yourself for reacting to her you continued to sit there, trying to figure a way out. After what you assumed was another hour you once again heard the door open and watched the three amigos stroll in. "Well ladies, what do you say we get this party started, hmm?"
The first vamp and his friend came towards you while the third guy headed straight for Lynsey. Kneeling down you knew what was about to happen, before they turned you they'd want to weaken you. Kicking out with your feet you tried to fight back both men as long as you could. Hearing a yelp from Lynsey you looked over to see the man drinking from her neck. The distraction cost you and suddenly the other two were on you.
One bit into your neck while the other bit your wrist, yelling out for them to stop you tried to fight back but began to grow weaker. Just as the lights began to blur and your head rolled forward you saw movement near the door. Blinking you tried to focus long enough to watch as Sam and Dean beheaded all three vampires.
Dean immediately ran forward and dropped to his knees beside you. Holding up your head with both hands he looked into your eyes, "Y/N! Come on baby stay awake okay?" Letting your head fall forward he reached up to pick the lock on your cuffs, a moment later both arms dropped. Leaning forward he wrapped both arms around his neck and put his arms underneath you. Lifting you up he yelled at Sam to hurry as he helped Lynsey.
Putting both women in the backseat Dean sped off towards the motel. Lynsey remained conscious since she only had one vamp drink from her while you were fading in and out. Dean continued giving you worried looks in the rearview mirror, "Y/N damnit stay awake we're almost there."
Trying as hard as you could to stay awake the effort proved pointless as you finally felt darkness consume you, your name the last thing you heard.
Once again waking up confused you tried to sit up but became really dizzy. Whimpering and bringing a hand up to your forehead you closed your eyes to calm the feeling. Warm hands covered your own and you felt the bed you were on dip as someone sat beside you. "Whoa there sweetheart, slow down you lost a lot of blood." Opening your eyes you were met with bright green ones filled with worry. "Dean?"
Smiling he helped you to lay back down, reaching over to grab a bottle of water and some pills he watched you swallow them. Looking around you noticed the empty motel room, "What happened, where are Sam and Lynsey?" Dean leaned forward, his arm sitting on the other side of your body allowing him to lean over you. "Sam went on a food run and Lynsey took off, hunt's over so she moved on to the next. She wasn't as bad off as you were so she left soon as she got up this morning."
Frowning you looked around, "Morning? How long was I out?"
Looking at the clock beside the bed he once again turned to meet your gaze, "Around eighteen hours, you really had me worried there for awhile." Bringing up a hand he gently brushed a strand of hair out of your face. If there had been enough blood left in your body you were sure your face would be on fire.
"I'm surprised you let her go so quick, you two seemed to hit it off pretty well." Frowning Dean tilted his head, "What do you mean?"
Looking down at the blanket you began picking at a loose thread, "Just that she talked about how much fun you guys had before and couldn't wait to have some more. You seemed really into her, guess I'm just surprised you chose to babysit me instead of being with her."
Not hearing a response you finally looked up to be met with a confused look from Dean, "We didn't... I mean, yeah Lynsey and I had some fun a few years back. But that was a long time ago, and the other night we just had a few beers and I came back here. She tried to get me to stay but I turned her down."
Mentally you did a cartwheel at hearing that, "Well from the way she talked in that basement she was definitely looking forward to reconnecting with you. I told her not to worry, that you'd come for her."
Frowning Dean leaned forward slightly, "Why would you say it like that, like I'd come there just to help Lynsey? When you didn't answer your phone I knew something had happened, the only thought on my mind was to find you and make sure you were safe." Squinting you tried to process what Dean was saying. Leaning forward even more there was barely any room left between you as Dean began rubbing a thumb across your cheek.
"What she and I had was a long time ago, besides, I've had my eye on someone else for a while now." Grinning he suddenly closed the distance by placing his lips on yours. Too shocked to move it took a moment before you began kissing him back, your hands lifting and tangling in the hair at the back of his neck. Pulling back you smiled up at him, "Are you sure about this?" Nodding and smiling wide Dean leaned forward to once again peck your lips, "More than I've ever been, there's no one like you sweetheart."
Sitting up he kicked off his boots and slid into the bed beside you, wrapping his arms around your body and pulling you against his chest you loved the feeling of his legs tangling with yours. Resting his head on top of yours Dean smiled as he held you, "Go back to sleep sweetheart, I'll be here when you wake up." Gripping his shirt in one hand you placed a kiss at the base of his throat and nuzzled into his neck. A minute later you were both asleep.
Opening the door while balancing pizza and beer Sam kicked the door shut with his foot and moved forward to place everything on the table. Realizing how quiet it seemed he turned to check on you and smiled at the scene before him. Sitting down he opened a beer and grabbed a slice of pizza as he opened his laptop to begin looking for your next case.
