Dean x Reader
"So get this."
Sam began walking towards you with his laptop balanced on top of a few books. Setting everything down at the small table in your motel room he grinned. "I found a local newspaper doing a story on an old house outside of town. It says the house is nearly a hundred years old and has been in the same family ever since it was first built. The disappearances all seem to surround the house, and that's not the only coincidence." He turned his laptop so you could read the screen.
"There have been disappearances before, it's almost always around the house and they are staggered which explains why no one would ever suspect anything." Nodding you agreed with Sam that this was a pretty solid lead. Looking at your best friend you grinned, he always got excited when his research paid off. You imagined him as a little kid on Christmas morning showing the same amount of excitement.
Standing as you downed the last of your coffee you looked towards the clock, "Okay so what's our next step, scope out the place?" Sam seemed to think about it for a moment. "Yeah, I think we should go and talk to the people living there. See if anything stands out or feels off." Agreeing you walk over to your bag and pull out your FBI clothes. "Alright lets get changed and head out, Deans still at the sheriffs station getting information on the victims. Maybe we'll be able to find the connection and see how they choose their prey."
Thirty minutes later you and Sam were both dressed and on your way to the farm house, since the station was only a few blocks away from the motel Dean had left baby behind. Sam signaled you were about to pull up and you nodded you understood. "Dean we're here I gotta go."
"Alright just be careful, call me if anything happens. Love you sweetheart."
"Love you too babe." No matter how many times you heard that it still made your heart flutter and your cheeks go red. Sam noticed the big grin on your face and laughed, "Alright now we gotta act like FBI, not lovesick teens." Sticking your tongue out at him you climbed out of the car. Looking around you couldn't help but notice how run down the place was. Half the barn had collapsed and the house looked almost ready to go at any moment. The whole place gave you a bad feeling.
Walking quickly to catch up to Sam you both stepped onto the porch, carefully watching your step as there were soft boards everywhere. Sam knocked on the door, you began looking around as you waited for someone to answer. A moment later the door opened slightly and a woman appeared. She seemed to be in her late fifties with graying hair and an apron tied around her waist.
"Can I help you folks?"
Sam smiled kindly as you showed her your FBI badges, "Yes ma'am we're investigating the recent disappearances in the area and were hoping to ask you a few questions." The woman shifted her weight on her feet and looked nervous, "I don't know anything about any disappearances. My husband is napping right now I'd ask you to please leave so you don't disturb him." Your gut told you she was definitely hiding something, "Ma'am, I'm so sorry to bother you but, have you lived here long?"
She nodded her head, "My whole life, my family has always owned this place. Always said we had to keep it in the family or else." She obviously didn't want to elaborate on the cryptic message so you let it drop. Hearing a noise inside the house you and Sam shot one another a look. Clearing his throat Sam gave the woman his card, "Thank you for your time ma'am, if you know of anything that could help our investigation please call."
Sticking the card in her apron pocket she nodded and immediately closed the door. Walking back to the car you and Sam both waited until you reached it before he bent down to pretend to tie his shoe. Without looking up he asked the question you expected, "Did you hear that, I swear it sounded like a woman's voice." Pulling out your phone to act like you were busy you nodded. "Yeah, Sam I've got a feeling we're right in the middle of something big here."
Standing up straight Sam nodded and began walking around to the back of the impala, opening the trunk he reached in to prop open the door. "Alright Sam, what's the plan. If we did hear a woman and they suspect we know then their going to kill her. What I don't understand is what type of monster they are. She looked pretty damn normal and besides the creepy factor this place isn't exactly giving off supernatural vibes."
You watched as Sam removed his jacket and picked up a pistol and a flask of holy water. "I don't know what they are either but I'm almost positive they have the last victim in there. Your right too, now that they suspect us their probably getting ready to kill her, we gotta move." Nodding your head you also removed your jacket, silently you thank Chuck you decided to go with the pant suit instead of the pencil skirt today.
Closing the trunk quietly you both made your way silently around the side of the house. Seeing a small window near the bottom you motioned for Sam to look. Bending down the scene in the basement almost made your stomach empty itself. Hanging from a beam were three bodies. The first two were obviously dead from the large slits made across their throats.
The third was a woman who was still moving slightly. There was blood running down her body from numerous cuts and she looked as though she was only minutes away from death. Sharing a look with Sam you both stood up and quickly made your way towards the back door. While Sam stood ready you reached forward and slowly opened the door. Seeing no one around you stepped inside, gun raised. Taking a minute to clear the kitchen and living room you both heard what sounded like muffled screaming and knew your time was limited.
Opening what looked like a door to the basement you tried to see down the dark steps. Listening closely you could make out a mans voice, calmly telling someone to hold still. Not being able to wait any longer you walked down the steps as quickly as possible while crouching down to see inside the room. There on the left side was the woman hanging from the ceiling, in front of her stood a man with a rusty blood coated knife. Just as you lifted your gun he held the knife up to her throat.
Without even turning around he began speaking, "I knew my little pet here had caught your attention officers. I was just about to silence her, permanently."
Shooting Sam a look you tightened your grip on your weapon, the woman's half opened eyes looked at you full of hope. "Put down the knife asshole, nobody else is dying."
You watched his shoulders bounce as he chuckled, taking a step to the side so that he could keep the knife at her throat he faced you and smirked. "Now see, that's where you are mistaken. I have a process my dear, capture, carve, and then finally, kill." He looked longingly at the woman, "And unfortunately for her, it's time for step three." Grinning evilly he quickly brought the knife across her throat, spilling her blood and ending her life. You could actually see the light in her eyes darken as she ceased struggling.
Rage burned through you, aiming and firing off two shots you sent one bullet to the mans heart and one through his head. After he dropped you and Sam both walked forward to investigate. Your confusion grew once you realized he had no fangs, vampire was off the list. None of the bodies were missing their hearts, and besides being tortured and murdered in horrible ways nothing seemed odd about any of it.
You both stood and looked at each other, "Sam, I think he was human."
Sam looked at you and back at the mans body on the ground, "I think your right Y/N. But what I don't understand is why? And he's not old enough to have taken those people from all those years ago. Whats the connection?" At this you both heard the hammer being pulled back on a gun. Turning around you saw the woman from earlier standing there, revolver pointed at you.
"Well now, looks like curiosity killed the cat, or rather my husband. My families been doing this for years and I gotta say this is the first time anyone has actually caught on. You two sure are smart," as she said this she moved to point the gun at Sam. You could see it in her eyes, she was going to pull the trigger. She smiled at Sam, "Too smart for your own good son." With that she squeezed the trigger and fired off a shot, being ready for it you never hesitated in jumping in front of Sam.
A white hot searing pain coursed through your body and you fell to the ground. You heard Sam yell your name and fire off two shots of his own. Looking over you saw the old lady fall dead to the floor. Her eyes open wide in shock.
"Y/N!"
