Episode 6: Secrets Unveiled
The Weight of the Past
The air in the room was thick with unspoken truths. Lucian and Selene stood facing each other, the tension palpable. The words Émile had left hanging in the air still echoed in their minds. Lucian could feel the ground beneath him shifting as the reality of what Émile had hinted at began to settle in.
"Selene," Lucian spoke softly, his voice tinged with urgency. "What secret is he talking about? What’s going on between us that we don’t know?"
Selene’s eyes were filled with uncertainty, her lips pressed into a thin line. "I... I don’t know," she stammered, her voice breaking as she tried to hold back the panic rising in her chest. "But I have a feeling it’s something from my past—something I’ve kept hidden. Something that, if revealed, could tear everything apart."
Lucian moved closer to her, the space between them now charged with a mix of concern and confusion. "You have to tell me, Selene. We’re in this together. Whatever it is, we can face it."
She shook her head, unable to meet his gaze. "It’s not that simple, Lucian. It’s something I’ve buried deep—something I promised myself I would never reveal."
Before Lucian could respond, they heard a noise outside the door. They turned to find Vivi, her face pale and her eyes wide with fear. "Selene, Lucian," she said breathlessly, "You need to come with me. Now."

The Revelation
The trio hurried through the estate’s dimly lit hallways, Vivi leading the way. As they rounded a corner, they came to a small, secluded library. Vivi pushed open the door, glancing over her shoulder nervously before entering. Lucian and Selene followed, unsure of what was happening.
Inside, the library felt heavy with an eerie stillness. The scent of old books and dust hung in the air, and the dim light from a single candle flickered as if it, too, was hesitant to illuminate the truth. Vivi closed the door behind them.
"You’re not going to like this," Vivi said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Lucian’s brow furrowed. "What’s going on?"
Vivi hesitated, her fingers trembling as she picked up a letter from the desk. "This is a letter I found in my grandmother’s estate. I thought it was nothing at first, but then I saw who it was addressed to..." She handed it to Selene, her voice shaking.
Selene took the letter cautiously, her heart pounding in her chest as she read its contents. The letter, written in elegant script, was addressed to Selene’s mother, from someone named Arianne Devereux—Lucian’s mother. The words on the page were a confession, one that sent a chill down Selene’s spine.
It read:
"To my dearest friend,
There is something I must confess, something that weighs heavily on my heart. The day I met you, I never imagined how intertwined our lives would become. I know of your secret, Selene. I know who you really are. Your true lineage is not of this world, but of the stars. You are the child of the one who defied fate itself."
Selene’s hands trembled as she read the letter aloud. "What... What does this mean?"
Lucian’s face turned ashen as he processed the words. He reached for the letter, his own heartbeat quickening. "No... This can’t be true."
Vivi looked at him, her eyes wide with shock. "Lucian, this explains everything. The way your mother and Selene’s mother were always so close, the way they always seemed to know things about each other. They were keeping secrets from you both."
Selene’s voice cracked as she asked, "What secret? What do they know?"
Vivi took a deep breath. "Selene, your mother and Lucian’s mother... they weren’t just friends. They were part of something larger, something much bigger than either of you ever realized. You are connected to Lucian by more than just your talent. You are connected by blood."

A Family’s Betrayal
Lucian stepped back, his mind racing. "No... this can’t be real." His voice was barely above a whisper. "How can this be true?"
Selene, on the other hand, felt her world begin to crumble. Her heart pounded painfully in her chest as the realization hit her like a wave. "You... you’re telling me that I’m—" She couldn’t finish the thought. She couldn’t bring herself to say the words.
Vivi nodded solemnly. "You are Lucian’s sister."
The words hung in the air, each syllable carrying the weight of a betrayal that neither of them had seen coming. Lucian looked at Selene, his face pale, his eyes filled with disbelief. "This... this can’t be happening," he said hoarsely.
Selene’s knees buckled beneath her as the truth sank in. She had always known there was something different about her, but this—this was beyond comprehension. Her entire identity had been a lie. Everything she had known, every choice she had made, was built on a foundation of deception.
Lucian reached out to steady her, his hand on her arm as he struggled to come to terms with the impossible revelation. "How could this have been kept from us?" he whispered, his voice shaking with the realization of the lies that had been woven around them.
Vivi’s eyes glistened with tears. "I don’t know, but there’s more. In the letter, it says something about a prophecy—a prophecy about two souls, born of the same blood, destined to change the fate of Valmere. But it’s not just a prophecy of hope. It’s one of destruction. If the truth is ever revealed, the city will fall."
Selene could barely breathe as she processed the implications of Vivi’s words. She and Lucian—siblings, tied by blood, but also cursed by a destiny neither of them had chosen. The prophecy they had unwittingly stepped into had the power to tear their world apart.

A Choice to Make
The weight of the revelation pressed on them, suffocating them in its enormity. Lucian felt a storm brewing inside of him, a rage that was both personal and destructive. How could his mother—how could his family—keep something like this from him? How could they deceive him for so long?
He turned to Selene, his heart aching for her. "What do we do now? This isn’t just about us anymore. This is about Valmere. This is about everything."
Selene, her face streaked with tears, wiped them away hastily. "I don’t know, Lucian. I don’t know if I can live with this. If I’m really your sister, everything changes."
He reached for her, his voice steady now. "We face it together. Whatever comes, we face it together. We’ve been through too much to turn back now."
But in the back of his mind, Lucian couldn’t shake the thought that there was something more to this prophecy—something darker that neither of them was prepared for.
