I dedicate this book to my Pap Pap Emilien Augustine Fernand Danel (a.k.a. Morris). Because of his legacy and leaving his hometown in France at the age of sixteen, it spurred my curiosity to follow his journey and experience France for the first time in my life.

I also dedicate this book to all of my newfound cousins in France, especially to Patrick and Genevieve Warin. Because of their warm hospitality, generous sharing of family history, and phenomenal French cuisine, it inspired me to create the setting for this book. I will forever cherish the memories of discovering my Danel heritage along with the beauty of France and all it has to offer.
