4 Only if we get ice cream on the way there. I sat at the table, trying to ignore the beer that sat taunting me. The server came up to me, but I waved him off. I didn't want to admit that Lia hadn't shown up yet. Nerves made me want to chug the beer, to dull my humiliation that even my mate didn't want to be around me, but I couldn't bring myself to take a drink. I refused to make an a*s out of myself if she did show up and I had imbibed too much. My fingers slid into my pocket, and pulled my phone out. Still no text message.
