"Hurry up, we don't have much time to make it to the rendezvous point before they decide to leave our sorry asses behind!" the Commander of the team, Captain Jamison Grey shouted as he shot at the enemy. "Team 2, go, we'll cover you!"
With a nod, Sergeant Erik Jones signalled for his team to move out. When they made it a ways away, they proceeded to return fire, so that Team 1 could start moving back too. "Hold your positions! Bravo team! Lay on some heavy suppressive so our other half can make it back too!" he called over all the gunshot noises. "Alpha team, you're a go to move," he said over his intercom
"Copy," Captain Grey replied. He then signaled his team to move out.
The soldiers ran out as fast as they could, but some of them weren't fast enough. Two soldiers were shot down and one was killed instantly. "Bowers!" the other fallen soldier called, but she was gone.
The Captain called for a MEDEVAC , calling in their coordinates and letting them know that they had two casualties - one fatality, and that they were under suppressive fire.
After what seemed like an eternity, a Black Hawk arrived, with help and reinforcements. Once hey got back to the base, the soldiers debriefed, then went to their barracks.
Upon entering, Sergeant Jones took his ACH (Army Combat Helmet) off and threw it across the room, cursing. "Son of a b***h! What the f**k happened out there?!"
The room immediately was on edge, for the other soldiers in the barracks had been relaxing and hadn't expected an outburst like that to come from the normally stoic Sergeant. The Sergeant began punching the wall, not only putting a hole in it, but also causing his fists to become bloody.
Two soldiers ran to get help.
"Sergeant Jones! Stand down!" a voice called out.
Jones whipped around, breathing heavily.
"What is going on in here?" the Command Sergeant Major asked, with Captain Grey and their Company Lieutenant.
"Something went wrong on that mission! There was no way in f*****g Hell that those insurgents would've known we were there, unless someone is a f*****g traitor and told them our exact location!" Jones yelled angrily.
"Do you realize what you're implying with that accusation, Sergeant?" the CSM asked.
"Yes Sir, I'm stating that some fucktard sold us out to the Taliban, compromising our mission, wounding one and killing another great soldier!" Jones yelled, fists clenched.
"Ok Sergeant, we'll launch a full investigation, and see what happened and who the traitor is. That Sergeant Jones is my promise to you and the fallen soldiers," the CSM vowed.
Jones let out a deep, long breath and relaxed his fists and gave a curt nod to the CSM. "Thank you, Sir."
