"What are you doing here?" I hissed in frustration.
Wearily, I let my bag hung low on my arms as I opened our gate.
As expected, Jacob followed me up to my door.
I was about to close it when he stopped it.
"Please, let me explain, Amara." Jacob begged and I rolled my eyes and let him in.
I was silently thankful neither of my sisters are here or else, all hell will break lose.
Once he was inside, I immediately closed the door.
"Talk. Five minutes. Then, you're out this door." I said and threw my bag on the couch.
Jacob sighed and looked at me.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry that I wasn't able to contact you lately. We had trainings almost everyday and it's already killing me as I wasn't able to talk to you and to spend some time with you." He pleaded. "Hindi ko matiis na hindi ka makausap kaya I resorted to the last plan. And that is to approach Alexa and befriended her and Duchess. I just want to be near you."
I stared at him poker-faced.
"What do you expect me to do? Welcome you with open arms?" I snapped at him wearily. "Just go. And don't talk to me anymore." I said and turned my back to him.
"AMARA!" He shouted which startled me and I jumped startled. "You said, you'll let me talk for five minutes. What are you doing? Turning your back on me?"
I sighed and sat on the first staircase facing him at the door.
"Talk." I said simply and looked at him.
"Training was exhausting-" He started and I cut him off.
"Sinabi mo na yan. Next." I said and rolled my eyes.
It was his turn to sigh and tried to approach me from where he was standing.
"Don't even think about it. Stay where you are." I warned and he stopped walking towards me.
"I was afraid to talk to you and you'll shut me out. Talking to Alexa was the best thing that I could do to get near you." He said, desperation is evident in his voice. "Please, bati na tayo?"
I chuckled like it's the most hilarious thing I have ever heard.
"Wow! Ano ka, bata?" I joked and shook my head.
Jacob just stared at me in disbelief.
"Hindi ko alam, ganyan ka na katigas. Hindi ka na marunong makinig sa paliwanag ng iba."
I scoffed and stood up to level with him.
I couldn't help but feel guilty not saying anything to him about my concerns.
I was about to open my mouth but was even startled when Amira came home and caught us in a tensed atmosphere.
"Do what you have to do. I'm outta here." Amira said flashing me a knowing look before she walked passed me to her room.
I heard her lock her door and I turned to face him.
"Time's up. Goodbye, Jacob." I said simply.
"I hope you're happy with your decision, Amara. Goodbye." Jacob said and closed the door behind him.
I heaved a deep breath and walked to my room with my eyes brimming with tears.
Me and my sister will be fine.
I had did what I had to do.
Jacob will be fine.
I will be fine, right?
