THE GREAT WARRIOR 26

1253 Words
In the filed outside the palace of the Onowu of Ubiam were Oyolima and her mother, the Queen of Getu as they were busy discussing. Oyolima first was asking her mother what the situation was at the present between her and the Onowu of Ubiam and the mother told her that she was still doing her best to make him see reasons why they could not have a relationship but then the Onowu was bent on entering in between her legs at any cost. Oyolima then asked to know what her mother would do if actually the Onowu insisted that she must give herself to him and the mother laughed and then told her daughter that she would have to first of all go to a land near Getu to know if the war favoured them and if yes she would then come back for them and they would go home but if not and it happened that their father (That is her husband, the king of Getu) died in the battle field then probably she would return and get married to the Onowu of Ubiam land. "What if marriage is not what he is craving for with you. What if he is craving for something more, something that concerns your body and not your heart" asked Oyolima. "If the Onowu of Ubiam wants my body but not my heart then he is not man enough, he is not responsible enough and that still proves me right in rejecting him in the first place. I cannot be so cheap. I can not forget so soon who I am and that the only thing I live for now is you and your sister" Immediately she said "your sister" they signed Golibe as she was approaching and they thought she was coming to join them but instead she picked a long cane and began to go back to the palace. Oyolima looked at her mother and they both believed that Golibe was going to do something bad and they rose and began to go after her. The door of to chamber of the queen of Getu opened and the Onowu of Ubiam was lying on the bed and waiting for the queen of Getu to enter so she could devour her for good but when he looked up he saw Golibe as she was standing with a long cane in her hand. He was about to sit up and asked what she was doing with a whip before Golibe began to flog him everywhere. The Onowu jumped up and tried to run out but she pushed him back to the bed and continued to flog him every where and the Onowu was screaming on top of his voice. Just then Oyolima and her mother ran inside and held onto Golibe to make her stop but she pushed them both to the ground and continued to flog the Onowu. The Onowu lost consciousness and still laid on the bed almost naked. The Queen of Getu could not believe what her daughter just did and she looked at Oyolima and while they were still contemplating on what to do a guard knocked on the door and asked, "What is going on in there. We heard a noise and we want to know what is going on in there. I want you all to come out at once and do not waste our time" Inside the chamber Golibe said she was going to take responsibility of what happened to the Onowu and that she was not afraid of anyone and anything. The guards outside were speaking once again and the Onowu who had begun to shake where he laid was raising up his hand and seeking for help. The the guards then broke in and could not believe the condition they saw their master. They immediately arrested the Queen of Getu and her daughters and took their master to the palace healer who went to work immediately. Inside the cell where Golibe, Oyolima and their mother were put the three of them were not saying a word. It was Golibe who broke the silent with ,"I am sorry" Oyolima looked at her angrily and shook her head. "I have always told you several times to be controlling your anger. The man in question was coming for me and not to either of you and the man he insulted was my husband before he became your father. You should learn to be controlling your anger. I do not think we will be able to get out of this and I pray we do for the people of Ubiam will not take it lightly with us. They have negative ideas about strangers visiting their land and now that we have done this we can not be allowed to stay alive" the Queen of Getu spoke. Meanwhile nearing the palace of Ubiam was Ube as he rode. He stopped in front of the palace and got down from his horse. The guards in front of the palace came forward and stood before him. "Who are you and what are you doing in the palace of the leader of Ubiam land" spoke one of the guards. Ube looked around and then rested his eyes upon them and began to laugh. He laughed for sometimes and then held one of the guards by the throat and raised him so high that his feet could not touch the ground. The rest of the guards retreated a bit then charged against Ube. Ube let go of the guard and he fell and kept on coughing. Ube then began to walk towards the throne. and the guards followed him, pointing their spears at him. When Ube was beside the throne he turned to look at the faces of the palace guards and then smiled. "Since your leader is not around I think I should occupy his space until he returns" He said and sat and the guards who had increased in number were coming closer with their spears still pointed at him. Ube then sighed and continued, "Very well then. I was hoping that you would learn from your friend who is still coughing over there but i can say that you have no idea of who I am and what I am capable of that is why you are not lowering the sticks in your hands. Very well then, I am going to three and upon counting to three I would like to open my eyes and see your spears on the ground else the spears will be on the ground but then your hands will join them; which means that I will cut your hands. How about that ?" He said and then closed his eyes and began to count. " One, Two, Three " He opened his eyes and found out that they had not done his wish and that they were still holding onto their weapons and pointing them at him. He stood up and then said, "Let us play" He began to pounce on them and the guards could not escape the wrath of the god of war as he made sure they were all groaning in pain on the ground who he kicked them to and then began to walk back to the throne. When he reached there he sighed once again and then sat on the throne and asked the only one he did not touch to get him a cup of wine and to be fast about it.
