Chapter 10

Chapter 10 Happy birthday.. daughter Alex's POV I woke up around 7am and headed to the gym for a little workout. I didn't have that much time because of the party and some work s**t I had to deal with, so I had to kind of hurry. After a little practice I took a quick shower and headed to the safe house. It was around 11, I sat there in a meeting for 2 hours discussing business. We decided that we would consider an offer that the Swedes once gave us, but that means that I have to fly to Sweden to meet the leader. Apparently the biggest gang in the north are willing to make a deal with us. They want us to supply them with weapons since it's easier to get weapons in America, and we are the biggest gang here. We would be perfect for the job. But since the work is in America I'll be the one handling everything and father will only get updates on it. Basically I'm the one who is getting more work on their hands, for a sum of money and another ally as payment. It sounds pretty good for starters, but I still have a s**t load of work before anything is confirmed. I also had to deal with some stupid upcoming gang in New York that are trying to take us down. They weren't really affecting us & so far they have only been all talk, but we have a reputation to keep up. My first priority was The Black Snakes and will always be until they are destroyed. But right now I had to head out, if I stayed one-minute past 2 in the office Camila would kill me. She has been calling me all morning telling me to head to the mansion to see if I like how everything was done. So I quickly collected my stuff, tied my jacket around my waist, put my gun in my bag and headed out. I arrived at the mansion and let me tell you, it looked.... different. Mother's parties would have nothing on the outside of the mansion since the mansion itself already is overwhelming. But this... this looked as if strippers would walk in any second. She had colourful lights all over the place and smoke machine besides the pool. Which don't get me wrong I loved, but there was some serious and important people coming to the party tonight. If my father was aware of .. this.. If he got the word that this was how the party looked he would burn this mansion down on our heads. I walked inside and that had me much happier. Not that I like this classy ass s**t, I hate it. But it was presentable to the mafia leaders who came for this s**t. The ball room looked pretty legit, I'll give her that, but she had 2 hours to remove all those damn lights outside before my reputation disappeared. "Camila!" I yelled "Finally, I have been waiting since 11am and you didn't show up, where the hell were you, I thought Elijah already killed you" She said running down the stairs holding a punch of papers and her phone. "You know, when we discussed this s**t and you said purple colour, that is what I expected, The s**t on the table. Not the damn light store you have in front of the mansion" "What it looks beautiful" She said "Yeah I agree, but I'm not sure father will when he sees all the picture on the press. Neither will the mafia leaders and criminals who are gonna be here in a few damn hours" I said almost yelling. "You know asshole, if you answered your phone when I called to ask you none of this would have happened" She yelled back. "Cam, you have 2 hours to fix this s**t before my reputation disappears along with the mansion, because I won't hesitate to burn it down" I said walking out. I knew that I was harsh on her, but I was so damn pissed and tired, at everything. Work isn't making it any easier either. The last thing I wanted to deal with was father shouting about the presentation, and let me tell you, he is pretty damn picky, just like mother was. After a while I had reached my house, I had a few calls I had to make and then I started getting ready. I threw on a short dark black dress knowing I can't go wrong with that and added some accessories and black high heels, and I was out the door. I had my wallet with me where I kept my gun. But I also had a smaller one strapped to my leg. The place was gonna be loaded with mafia and gang leaders.. so I wasn't going to take any chances. I would rather be safe than sorry. I was done around 6pm but I still had to head back to the mansion and get ready to welcome the guests. When I reached I was ready to pass out, work has been way too much lately and I'm starting to regret this party already. It was just a pretty wrong timing.. the deals and shipments, the Swedes, the new gang and the Black Snakes. This time when I arrived however, the mansion looked better. Like way way better. She had replaced those colourful club kinds of lights and simply turned on the yellow spotlights instead. "Hey" Camila said as soon as I walked in. "Hey, look I didn't mean to shout earlier I have been on the edge lately and the house looked like a f*****g strip club" I said trying to explain myself instead of saying sorry. Apologizing has always been hard for me. I don't like being wrong. It's just not my thing. "It's fine it was my fault I knew this party was supposed to be work related, but I just ignored that" "Well, there is always another party we can throw for only the gang" I said giving her a smile "Now that, I'm planning" "As long as we have vodka instead of champagne" I said. "Count that done, come on now I have a surprise for you inside" Camila said pulling me inside As soon as she pushed open the door, my jaw reached the ground as I could practically hear my heart beating in my chest. "Happy birthday, daughter" "Dad..?!"
