Chapter 3

Chapter 3 Cielo Alex's POV It has been one week since the little incident with Mike. Antonio is still working on getting the members we have to talk, but one of them already died. He had a gun and chose to kill himself with it. He didn't even try to put up a fight. Whoever they are working for has to be either pretty good at finding loyal followers, or pretty damn ruthless so no one dares to cross him. Mike has been healing pretty good and we informed dad about everything that went down. We thought it was a good idea to keep him up to date, especially since our rivals want him down here in New York, guessing it's because they want to kill him. Today is Saturday, and Saturdays here are for anyone who can swallow a few shots of alcohol. Most of the girls and boys go out, usually to one of our casinos or clubs, but today we are changing stuff up a bit. There is this new club that just opened recently, "Cielo" and it's the talk of the city. We thought we would go give it a try today. The girls usually meet at my house and we go together. Either the boys pick us up or we meet them wherever we are going. Depending on how many hours it takes for us to get ready. At the end of the night I'm usually the mother that takes care of everyone. I can handle my drinks, but when I start getting drunk all the emotions that have been buried, comes out. So I learned to control and handle my liquor. Things are way more fun with no strings attached. "Alex! Can we all wear like matching colours?!" yelled Camila from the other room. Camila, the bitchiest girl you'll ever meet. Pretty but definitely not the innocent type. She will kill anyone who underestimates her, which is one of the reasons she happens to be my best friend. Through my toughest days, she was the one helping me not drown in whiskey & cocaine. "As long as it's black" I yelled back. "Never mind then" She sighed not even trying to convince me knowing it will be a no. She was almost the opposite of me. She loved being the centre of attention, the light in the dark that caught everyone’s eyes, which to be honest she actually rocked. Me however, I'm that basic b***h that only wears black by choice, if I ever felt fancy i would add a little dark red. I don't like to dress to impress. I just find it stupid, but it doesn't mean I don't wear elegant clothes. I'm just not the type of person who gives much thought or effort into her style, unless there is something special or an event, you'll probably find me in a hoodie and shorts or a plain black t-shirt with ripped jeans, and if I'm feeling classy a pair of high heels. My body makes it easier to skip the fashion part too. I mean you don't exercise 5 days a week, 2 hours a day plus go on missions and not get an amazing body out of it. I guess that's one of the many ups of being in the mafia. I put on a short black dress, tall black heels and an oversized denim jacket on top with some earrings and a necklace. After almost 3 and a half hours of getting ready, the girls were done. The boys said we would all go together since it's a new spot and we agreed. By now Alessandro had already called me 15 times and they were knocking nonstop on the door. I could have sworn if they knocked once more the door would break. Clarissa, my maid opened and cursed at them in Italian telling them to wait in the car because she got tired of them. You could never hate that women, she was so sweet and like another mother to all of us. She was truly amazing and had the Italian roots in her. After about 10 more minutes with the girls forgetting stuff and me telling them I'm going without them, we were finally ready and out the door with me forgetting my phone. I wasn't in the mood to go back upstairs so I just left it at home knowing I would regret it as soon as everyone started getting really drunk. The black limo shined in the dark making everyone around us stare. We jumped in quickly before people could take out their phones and film making the paparazzi hunt us and I might have never heard more quietness than this in my whole 20 years of living. I cleared my throat snapping all the staring faces out of their daydreams since it got awkward. "Were you boys watching something or are y'all just happy to see us?" I said smirking and looking down at them as the girls and Alessandro broke down in laughter and Antonio changed the subject by telling the driver to go. After a car ride filled with awkward & genuine laughter, we arrived and surprise surprise, the paparazzi were there. Who would have thought! Now if there is something "normal and usual" I hated it would be taking photos and people trying to squeeze their asses where they don't belong. I have known people my whole life & still get annoyed at certain questions they ask.. what makes you, the stranger I just was forced to meet since you have been stalking me, think that's I'd like to answer or pose for pictures for you..? They were up in our asses all the time since my brother and me are famous business partners in front of the eye of the public. We do own Salvatore Enterprises after all, even though we barley go there.. It's our main cover for the fraud & money laundering. "Alexandra are you still sober?" "Camila is it true you're pregnant?" "Alessandro isn't ironic that you are doing a campaign for women's respect when you hire escorts and prostitutes?" After a few seconds of trying not to hit or accidentally murder anyone, we were finally inside the club and let me tell you it looked pretty damn good if I say so myself. There were some awesome lights all around the club reflecting on the glass ceiling and walls. All the tables and chairs were glowing from the inside with neon lights moving to the beat of the songs the DJ was getting the crowd to jump to. To the right, there was stairs decorated with crystals all the way up. Recalling from our clubs and casinos, those stairs probably led to the manager and security room. We headed directly to the VIP area like we always do when we visit a club. You could see the rest of the club from here and damn it was packed. While I was checking the area out everyone was already headed towards the bar. I followed them ordering myself a whisky. What? Don't judge, I can handle my drinks. Like really handle my drinks to the point where I get a whole bottle of drinks whenever I go out with family and friends. Everyone is just so used to it, which I'm really thankful for. We sat there downing shot after shot, laughing until we couldn't breath, talking about nothing and everything until almost everyone was either passed out, still downing shots or dancing with strangers. Alessandro however had already found his toy for the night. Yes, he is a player, and so is every single man I have ever met in this business. Of course, we won't risk getting attached to someone "normal". It will always end up with them either being scared and having to be killed by the gang or... killed by another gang. Basically, they'll end up dead no matter what you do. Trust me, I learned that the hard way. But who am I to judge, hell I was thinking about finding someone for tonight too. Everyone has their needs. But at least be direct about them instead of playing people. After a few minutes, a muscular tall guy walked down the stairs wearing a dark matte suit. I couldn't see his face clearly but he wasn't bad at all. He lit a cigarette and sat down at the bar near the end as I quickly removed my gaze so he didn't catch me starring at him. I downed what was left of my drink and ordered another one. I wasn't driving after all so it was fine if I got a bit tipsy, I thought to myself. ••• "What do you mean it was false ?!" I yelled at my right-hand man, Enzo. "They somehow figured it out and she shot him at the docks" Enzo replied "Who do they think they are to play with us like that ?!" I yelled pissed as f**k at that stupid business. Every time we think we are ahead of them they prove us wrong. "I'm gonna grab a drink downstairs" I said taking my cigarette pack and lighter with me not wanting to deal with this anymore tonight. I went down the stairs and lit one on the way down, took a seat at the bar and ordered a drink. I was beyond pissed at work. "Alex!" I heard a girl yell while walking to another girl sitting at the bar. She was so beautiful, how the hell didn't I notice her sitting here? "What do you want Camila?" The girl replied smiling, I think that her friend called her Alex. "Dance with me.. Alessandro and the boys left, and I want to danceee !" Her blonde friend yelled back. "Just dance with Antonio, he is still here right?" Alex asked "Noooo! Antonio wants *hiccup* you! He loves you.." Her friend, named apparently Camila replied. That's when a tall dude approached them and sat beside them. He seemed to have heard some of their conversation. "And you're drunk Cami" The dude said. "As if you aren't ?" Alex quickly fired back rolling her eyes Sassy... "No, I thought I would try taking responsibility like you tonight, so noo drinks" he said before he couldn't hold his laughter in anymore. Alex laughed and it was the purest laugh I had ever heard, wait when did I turn into such a p***y again? "Ohh.. Now I get it, you said no drinks.." She laughed getting on the fact that he's high. I chuckled at the situation taking another drink and starting to calm down. ••• Alex's POV I didn't take what Camila said seriously, she had way too many shots to even be standing up right now. Then Antonio came, "and you're drunk Cami" he said. "As if you aren't" I said rolling my eyes. "No. thought I would try something new and taking responsibility like you tonight, so nooo drinks" he replied before cracking up as I couldn't help but laugh at how ridiculous he sounded. He, Mike, and my brother were the trio that always went out and got drunk. To be fair it isn't that big of a deal since I'm mostly in charge. But it was kind of funny seeing Antonio try. But then it hit me. "Ohh..Now I get it, you said no drinks" I laughed really stretching the word "drinks". "Good job, you’re starting to understand men" He said in a high voice smirking and winking, obviously trying to mimic me. Not that I look anything like that... "That's a low move you know" I said while he started walking back to Mike. "Whatever you say" he said waving his hand. Using my own words against me.... b***h, I thought laughing to myself. "Wha... ? I don't get it" Camila said looking at me. "Why don't you go back to dancing they are playing Ed Sheeran" I said wanting to get her away from the bar. That was all it took before a she quickly tried following Antonio until she disappeared in the crowd. "Another whisky please" I said looking at the bartender "Sure thing" He replied. "Damn mia belle, three whiskeys?" I heard a husky voice beside me almost surprised. "Great you're doing the counting for me" I said not even looking at him as I took out a cig of my own. "All on me" He said.. what a gentleman. I gave him a quick look, it was that hottie who came down the stairs. I would say he is probably the owner. I ignored him and took another sip of my drink. ••• Elijah's POV For some reason she seemed pretty bored and unimpressed. "Where are my manners?" I spoke sitting on the chair beside her. "My name is Elijah Black, I'm the owner" I said holding my hand out. "Alex Jonas" She said shaking my hand. She looked pretty familiar for some reason, I just can't figure it out. I lifted her hand and laid a little kiss on it and ordered myself another drink. "First time here ?" I asked "You look kind of familiar, but I don't remember seeing you here before" I said trying to really dig deep into my memory. Where do I know her from..? "Well it's a quite new place, and it's pretty crowded so maybe someone similar " She answered. "Averie ricordato una bella faccia come te" I spoke complementing her knowing that she probably wouldn't understand what I just said. (I would have remembered a beautiful face like you) She took another sip and started looking around the club as if she were waiting or looking for someone. "I don't think your boyfriend would enjoy me sitting here" I said. "If that's your way of asking if I'm single then yes I am" She answered not even looking at me. Damn, am I that clear and easy to read nowadays? This girl was truly something else. She amused me with her fire. I was planning on making her mine for the night. "So, you wouldn't mind me doing this then" I said and kissed her softly and pulled away after a second. She was surprised but after a few seconds she cut the silence. "Usually, Yes. But tonight no" She replied smashing her lips back on mine "Let's take this somewhere more private si?" I asked and she nodded. I held her hand and led her upstairs to my room. I had a bed and office there where I would sleep if I stayed late working or didn't feel like going back home. ••• Alexandra's POV He led me through the crowd and held my hand all the way up. Passing I saw Camila and she saw me too, she had the biggest smile on her lips when she saw me. Usually I would have already kicked his ass but for some damn reason I'm letting him take control of me tonight. I'm not even that drunk, I thought. We reached a room, he opened the door for me and we went inside. It was pretty cute if I'm honest. He had a desk with his laptop and phone and on the side there was a bed and a medium sized closet. There was also a glass door to a bedroom. I heard him locking the main office door and seconds later I was pushed back to the wall with his lips claiming mine. "You sure about this?" He asked and I whispered a simple "yes" into his ear. Not even a second later his lips were already mine as he slowly pushed me on the bed not breaking the kiss. Soon we were laying in the bed with him hovering on top of me with nothing on us except the white blankets that soon would be stained with anything but innocent.
