Medical aid. That bastard General had nothing better to offer me than helping Doctor Alma and I wasn’t in a position to refuse. I didn’t know which I was more angry about. My hands tightened around the handle of the trolley as I wheeled a load of medicine and other surgical supplies to the infirmary wing. One of the dodgy wheels snagged on a dip and the whole cart shook, throwing off a box that exploded bandages all over the courtyard. “Ah, s**t!” A couple of soldiers on their break paused what they were doing and one of them waved at me. “Need a hand?” I sighed and shook my head. “No, thanks, I got it.” The man shrugged and returned to his conversation, leaving me to pick up the pieces.
