Whatever it takes

Chapter 3

  ALPHA WARREN'S POV

Sitting back in my chair I scrubbed my hands over my face and sighed heavily. It was five am, today is Parker’s punishment in front of the whole pack. He will be made an example of, my son or not everyone in this pack will know you DO NOT TOUCH A WOMAN!! Any woman, no matter what she’s done. 

“Come in Louise!” I called as the floorboards outside my door squeaked. It was my wife and Luna, this was her fifth or sixth attempt to come talk to me. Each time I’d hear her sigh and hear her footsteps going the other way. I knew she was upset with me and I understood that, Parker was her baby boy she didn’t agree with what I was doing. He was my boy too, this wasn’t easy for me either, he committed a terrible act and he must face the consequences. That poor girl had only witnessed an argument and Parker had almost killed her. Pending on how she heals he could have ruined her life too. I will not stand for it, it must be followed through. He must face what he's done. 

I looked up as the door finally opened and she let herself in, “Warren,” she said in that voice where I knew she wanted something. “Yes my dear?” I asked and turned my chair as she rounded the desk. “Please don’t do this,” she whimpered, “he's our son, your son. I agree he needs to be punished and face what he’s done but this is barbaric. Think of another way, any other way, please?” I sighed and sat forward in my seat, “I’m sorry baby, I know this is hurting you, it’s hurting me too. He almost killed Alexa, he can’t get off lightly. This is what I’ve decided.” She caught a tear as it fell and took a few steps back, “I will not support you on this. This is crazy, there has to be another way.”

 “Enough Louise!” I yelled and slammed my hand down on the desk. “He almost killed an innocent young girl! He’s lucky I didn’t kill him myself!” Her shoulders dropped in defeat, wiping her eyes she turned around and walked back towards the door. “If you do this Warren I will hate you for the rest of my life, I will no longer be your wife or Luna. I will take my children and leave,” she sniffed and slammed the door behind her.

 “f**k!” I growled and slammed my hands down on the desk. “f**k! f**k! f**k!” I roared. I am the Alpha and leader of this pack, I must follow the laws and rules just like everyone else, my son is no different.

 PARKER'S POV 

 It was ten minutes to ten in the morning, I sat parked at the training grounds in a world of my own watching pack members make their way to the field. I was rattling, my whole body shook I was terrified. I wasn’t sure I would make it through this, I’d gone so far as to think about running away. I couldn’t do that, I couldn’t leave Alexa, I needed to take my punishment and somehow keep it from her. She’d enough on her plate without worrying about me too. 

Blowing out a deep breath I pulled off my belt and looked down at my phone as it beeped. Seeing Alexa's name I smiled and opened it Can you get away later? I'm home for 2 days xxx I smiled again and sent a quick reply, Yes baby, I'll meet you at 8 where we were last night, can't wait to see  xxx Throwing my phone down I took a deep breath and stepped out of my car. I had to do this, I deserved it. 

Making my way across the field I spotted my dad talking with my uncle and some other guy. Looking around as I walked towards them I couldn’t find my mom or my sister. I couldn’t see any of Alexa's family either, I was sure her dad and brothers would have taken front row seats. Getting to my dad I stood beside him and waited for him to speak to me.

 He turned to face me, “you ready for this?” “Yes Alpha,” I nodded and kept my eyes on the ground. “Take your shirt off and go to the poles...this is for your own good Parker,” he said and walked away with my uncle. Please moon Goddess, let me make it though this!

 ALEXA'S POV 

 The next morning had come and I was in terrible form, Parker had text me last night, I knew something was wrong. He was avoiding the topic of his dad and what he’d wanted him for. I let it go, I’d see him tonight, I’m sure he’d tell me then.

 I looked up and smiled as my eldest brother Kyle walked in. I hadn’t seen him since I’d woken, he’d been away since before it happened. He grinned and held out his arms, “hello baby sis, man I missed you,” he said and hugged me tight. “you ready to get out of here?” I nodded eagerly and rolled off the bed. He took my bag before slinging his arm around my shoulder as we walked. 

“Has Tyler or anyone got their hands on Parker yet?” he asked as we reached the car. My body froze at the thought someone hurting him. I quickly wrote on my notebook. 'Please  leave him alone! Please Kyle?  He scoffed, “after what he did to you? I’m sorry sis but that kid is dead when I catch up with him,” he said and threw my bag into the car.

 I blew out a breath and stamped my foot, slapping his arm I shoved the notebook in his face. “Alright! Alright! Calm down,” he said and opened the door for me. I climbed in with a huff, if anyone touches him I won’t be held accountable for my actions.

 As we got closer to the pack grounds I noticed everyone gathered on the training grounds. I tapped Kyle and pointed. “You wanna see what’s going on?” he asked. I nodded and watched him turn away from the road that led to our house. Pulling up I climbed out and looked around it was silent, everyone was focused on something in the middle. Tensions were high, people were giving each other weird looks. Something wasn’t right. 

"I don't like this Alex, that bad feeling is back" Faye said wearily. "I don't like this either,"  I replied and started to push my way through the crowd towards the front. 

My heart plummeted into my stomach, I could swear I stopped breathing, my blood ran cold. There was Parker with both hands tied to a post on his knees, head slumped forward, blood all over him. He was barely conscious! As I saw the whip being raised again I didn’t think twice before I took off across the grounds ignoring my brothers yells.

 Getting to Parker I dived in front of him just as the whip connected with my back. I didn’t care about the pain all I cared about was Parker. “Stop!” I heard my Alpha yell. I looked to see him running towards us. “Alex...go...please...” Parker mumbled out. I shook my head even though he wasn’t looking at me and shielded him with my own body.

 “Alexa?” my Alpha said surprised, “what is the meaning of this? Why are you here?” he frowned. I quickly wrote and showed him the notebook. Release him! Release him now!' My Alpha read it and looked back to me, “this is his punishment Alexa, it needs to be done...please move out of the way.” I shook my head furiously and began to write again. Stop! Please stop! I won't let you do this to him! 

Again he read and looked back to me, “I don’t understand what’s going on here Alexa. After what he’s done to you I thought you might be pleased he was being punished.” “Alexa, get over here!” my bother growled and tried to pull me away. I ignored him and wrote again. I'm not one bit pleased! Let him go! Please Alpha let him go!’ 

“Alex,” Parker mumbled, “please...just....go....you....shouldn’t...be...here.” My Alpha looked at me curiously, “and why should I let him go?” I blew out a frustrated breath and scribbled on the notebook and showed it to him.

HE'S MY MATE!!! 

PARKER'S POV 

 Every part of my body was in pain, I was barely holding on to consciousness. Alexa was so stubborn, she wouldn’t move, she defied my dad-her Alpha. She stood in front of me protecting me, my dad wouldn’t be happy at all. I lifted my head to see my dad staring at her notebook, whatever she’d written had shocked him. After a minute he turned to the crowd, “everyone leave us!” he yelled in his Alpha tone. Everyone scattered just leaving Alexa and I, my dad and her brother.

 He walked to my chains and undid them “does he know?” my father asked Alexa. I looked to her as she nodded and quickly hurried to me. I pulled myself up on my knees, I was too weak all I could do was rest my head against her stomach, I felt much better already. She tilted my head back and I saw tears run down her face, she took the end of her dress and wiped the blood from my face. “What’s going on here? Alexa what are you doing?!” her brother yelled and tore her away from me. 

What she did next surprised both me and my dad. She punched her brother in the face and shoved him away from her. “What the f**k Alexa?!” he yelled holding his nose. She wrote quickly and showed it to him. “Go home? If I’m going home you’re coming with me!” he yelled. She shook her head and walked back to me, sliding under my arm she started to pull me to my feet. I staggered into her, she pressed all her weight into me to straighten me up. I felt her pat my pockets and pull out my car keys. ‘Alex,” I mumbled. She shook her head against me and continued to walk with me. "We need to go talk in my office,” my dad said. Again she shook her head and started to walk. “Where are you planning on taking my son?” my dad asked. “Hospital? He doesn’t need a hospital, just put him in his bed, he'll heal himself,” my dad said....now it made sense why she wanted my keys.

 With a final shake of her head she pulled me to my car and into the passenger seat. She climbed in beside me and started up the car, ignoring my dad and her brother she pulled away. 

AEXLA'S POV

An hour later I paced Parker’s room like a lunatic, he’d been asleep since he came back from being examined. Dr Ryan assured me that he would be okay and the wounds would heal. He looked at my back too and told me it was already healing (thank you Faye) “Alex,” he mumbled sleepily. I was beside him in a second. “why did you do that? Why did you stop it? I deserved it.” I shook my head angrily and kissed him slowly, I needed to I was going insane! He would calm me. 

He slid his hand onto my cheek and deepened the kiss, after he pulled back he just stroked my cheek and stared into my eyes. I pulled away and grabbed my stupid notebook, his touch only calmed me for a second I was so mad! Why didn't you tell me!? You knew this was going to happen!! Why would you lie to me!? I'm so mad at you Parker!! 

 He sighed heavily and scooted to try and sit up, I leaned over him and pushed him back down sending him a glare. “I didn’t want you to worry, I didn’t want you to know,” he answered. What you feel I feel dummy! I knew something was wrong! You can't lie to me Parker ‘ “I’m sorry okay,” he said and grabbed my hand, “I thought I was protecting you. You’ve enough on your plate, I didn’t want you to worry about me.” Before I could reply the door opened and his dad came in. My protective instincts kicked in, I immediately stood in front of him blocking his path to Parker. 

“It’s okay Alex,” Parker yawned, “let him in.” “I’m just here to talk Alexa,” he said and sat down beside the bed. I crossed my arms and walked to Parkers side. I still didn’t trust this visit was to check up on him. “So, you two are mates?” Alpha Warren questioned. His eyes went wide, he looked up at me, “how does he know? did you tell him?” I nodded and looked down at him, “why? You said you needed time.” “You two have seen each other since the incident?” Alpha Warren asked. I nodded and looked back to Parker...he'd have to do all the talking. “Yes, I ran into her along my walk the other night...that’s how we found out,” he said.

 His dad nodded, “so that’s why you begged me to let you see her? Tell me Alexa,” he said and stood up “has my son forced you to stay mates?” I shook my head immediately. He eyed me suspiciously and glanced at Parker, “are you afraid of my son? We can go speak alone if you’d rather that?” I grabbed my notebook and began to write, turning it to face him I took Parkers hand No Alpha, Parker didn't force me to do anything. No I'm not afraid of him, I want to be with him, I want us to stay together and so does he. 

After reading it, Alpha Warren sat down and scrubbed his hands over his face, “is this what you want Parker? You want Alexa?” He smiled up at me and nodded, “yes dad, she’s all I want.” “Very well then,” he said and walked to the door, “this isn’t going to be easy, your parents and your brothers won’t be happy about this. You kids are in for a rough start, you need to be a hundred percent sure this is what you want,” he said and walked out the door. 

“He's right this is not going to be easy babe,” Parker said. I shrugged and sat beside Parker, leaning in I kissed him sweetly....I really didn’t care. My parents and everyone else could try ruin us, I would not let them.

PARKER'S  POV 

 “Alex?” I said a while later and waited for her to look at me. She was pacing like crazy up and down by my bed, my dad hadn’t long left I think he freaked her out. She stopped pacing and looked at me, “can you sit down babe? You’re making me dizzy.” She huffed and sat on the chair beside the bed, “up here,” I said and patted the spot beside me. She stood up and dropped down beside me, I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her into me. “I know my dad freaked you out but he’s right Alex, your parents are not going to want you with me, this is gonna be hard. It’s not gonna be fixed over night.” 

She sighed and threw her arm over me pulling me closer. “We’ll get through it babe, whatever it takes, I’m not letting anyone take you away from me,” I said and pulled her closer to me. 

A little while later we were walking out of the hospital, my wounds had healed over and I was good to go. Slinging my arm around her shoulder I smiled as her arm came around my waist, “do you wanna go do something before I drop you home?” I asked as we got to my car. She smiled widely and nodded before climbing in. “Ice-cream and a walk on the pier?” I asked as we pulled away from the hospital. She clapped her hands and nodded furiously....I take it she likes ice-cream? Now that I think about it, she always had ice-cream in school. I chuckled and slid my hand into hers. 

Another while later we sat on a wall looking out over the water with our ice-creams. “You got something on your face,” I said and waited for her to turn her head, “gotcha,” I laughed as I jammed my ice-cream into her nose. She giggled and smacked my arm before pouting at me. I jumped down off the wall and stepped between her legs, “I’m sorry, I’ll get it,” I said and licked it. She giggled and gripped my shoulders. “Still some more,” I murmured and licked the side of her mouth. “And more,” I whispered and kissed her. 

Her hand went to my neck as we lazily made out just taking our time. My hands slid to her bare legs and up her thighs, I needed to stop I was getting hard, I didn’t want to take things too far. Pulling back I smiled and stroked her cheek “I gotta bring you home now babe.” She shook her head and grabbed her notepad I don't wanna!!!! “You have to,” I chuckled. She shook her head again and wrote on the pad, I wanna stay with you tonight. “I don’t know babe, you should really go and see your parents. My house is the first place they’d look.” Please? We can sleep in the car she wrote and pouted. I chuckled and leaned into her, “okay, you can stay with me,” I said and kissed her. 

 Helping her down we started to walk back to the car, I turned back to her as she tugged on my hand. She held up her notepad Thank you for our 1st date xx “Baby that wasn’t a date, you deserve way better than this,” I said. She stamped her foot and scribbled on her pad, ‘it was our 1st date' “Okay, okay, it was our 1st date,” I chuckled and kissed her sweetly. 

ALEXA'S POV

 We now lay in the back of Parker’s car as he lazily ran his fingers up and down my arm while I lay curled into his chest. It was starting to get cold, his jacket over us wasn’t much help. As if reading my thoughts, he spoke. Alex we can’t sleep in the car, it’s gonna get colder.” I scribbled on my pad and held it up to him, ‘where else can we go? “I don’t know,” he sighed, “a motel or hotel maybe.” ‘Parker that will cost a fotrune, I'm happy here with you I don't care how cold it gets'' I wrote. "Well I do, you’re meant to be resting babe, we can’t sleep here,” he grumbled.

 I sighed and sat up, moving my body I straddled him and scribbled on my pad, we're staying here’ I wrote and flung it behind me. “Ale-" I cut him off and jammed my tongue down his throat. He groaned onto my mouth and put his hand on the back of my head as he deepened it.

 I don’t know what got into me but I pushed against him, his hands dropped to my ass as I did it again. He gripped me tighter and pushed me in harder. “Alex, babe, we can’t,” he groaned into my mouth. I really hated this not being able to speak s**t! I bit his lip and pushed against him again harder. “Alex, I’m gonna lose it if you don’t stop now,” he said and moved onto my neck. I closed my eyes as he bit on my marking spot. He growled and gripped my hips as I pushed into him fast. He pulled back and looked me in the eye, “you sure you wanna do this here? Now?”

 I stared back at him, did I? Of course I did but something doesn’t feel right. Sighing I reached for my pad and scribbled quickly. I want to, I so want to....maybe wait until I get my voice back‘ He chuckled and leaned into me, “no rush babe, I'm all yours,” he murmured and kissed me slowly. 

After a few minutes of making out I pulled away from him and climbed off him. Settling back on his chest I scribbled and held the pad up to him. Where can we go?‘ “I’ve got an idea,” he said and nudged me to look up at him. “My dad knows we’re mates, what if we went to mine and I ask him if we can stay?” I was unsure but I really wanted to spend the night with him. Grabbing my pad I sat up will you be okay? He won't attack you or anything? ‘

 “No babe,” he chuckled, “I’ll be fine, do you wanna do that then?” I nodded and scribbled quickly, 1 sign of anything and we're leaving? ‘“Promise,” he said and kissed me sweetly. Nodding again we both climbed into the front seats and got settled for the short drive. Please let this go well!!

PARKER'S  POV  Pulling up at my house we both climbed out and made our way to the door. Stopping I held my hand out and waited for Alexa to slip her hand into mine. I knew she was nervous so I squeezed her hand and sent her a reassuring smile, “it’s gonna be okay babe, stop worrying,” I said and pushed the front door in. Stepping inside I pulled her with me and closed the door behind me. It was still early enough for my parents to be awake, I knew my dad would be in his office.

 “Parker?” my mom said as she ran down the stairs, “I’ve been trying to reach you all day! Are you okay? I was so worried,” she rambled and pulled me into a hug. “I’m fine mom, don’t be worrying,” I said and hugged her back with one arm....I wasn’t letting go of Alexa. My mom stepped back, “I could kill you for....” she trailed off when she spotted Alexa, when she was sure it was in fact her her eyes went wide. They almost popped out of her head when they fell on our joined hands.

 “Parker what’s going on here? Alexa honey are you okay?” she asked taking a step closer to her. “Parker why is she here? What have you done to her now?” she asked and tried to pull her away from me. “Mom, relax, it’s not what you think,” I said and pulled Alexa into my side. She smiled at my mom and wrapped her arm around me, guess that was her way of telling her she was okay. 

My mom’s eyes went from me to Alexa a couple of times before she stepped forward, “no! Are you? You’re mates?” she shrieked happily. Alexa giggled and buried her head into my chest, I just chuckled and wrapped both my arms around her, “yes mom we’re mates. We want to be together, we’ve talked about what happened, we're gonna give this a go.” My mom stared at us for a minute or two, “oh this is so exciting!” she yelled and grabbed the both of us into a hug. “I’m so happy for you both!” “Thanks mom,” I replied and smiled down at Alexa. “uh, do you know where dad is? I was kinda hoping he’d let us stay here tonight. Alexa doesn’t want to go home just yet.” 

She stepped away from us and scoffed, “probably hiding in his office. This is your home Parker of course you can both stay, you don’t need to ask him.” I sensed a little tension between my parents and I’m sure it was to do with me. “I’d still like to mention it to him, you know keep the peace....is everything okay between you two?

 “Everything is fine,” came my dad’s voice from beside us. My mom rolled her eyes and took a step back away from him as he joined us. “Is okay if we stay tonight ?” I asked. My dad stared at my mom who stood looking the other way for a minute before sighing and turning back to us. “One night Parker, Alexa your father has already been here looking for you. I will not fall out with pack members over this.” Alexa pulled her hand from mine and began to write on her pad. One night Alpha promise, I'll go see them first thing in the morning we just want a little time together ‘

 My dad read her note and sighed again, “okay then, Parker will show you to his room. You’ll go see your parents first thing,” he said and looked back to my mom who was still ignoring him. “I’ll go get some of Jade’s pyjama for you Alexa,” she said and hurried off. “Are you sure everything is okay dad?” I asked. He watched my mom go and turned back to us, “your mother is a little upset with me, we'll be fine....goodnight,” he said and walked back towards his office. 

Alexa tugged my hand and waited for me to look at her; ‘Things are not okay' “No,” I sighed and led her to the stairs, “I’ll talk to my mom in the morning, let’s get you into bed.”
