Whatever it takes

Chapter 6

PARKER'S POV 

Monday morning had come around too fast,  here I was sitting outside the school in my car dreading walking through those doors. I didn’t know what to expect, I was a little nervous, the only thing getting me through this was knowing Alexa will be here too. Even though I couldn’t go near her it was a comfort to know she was near. Blowing out a deep breath I pulled myself out of the car and slung my bag over my shoulder. Shoving my hands into my pockets I started making my way inside. 

As soon as the door closed behind me the halls fell silent, looking up I saw everyone staring at me. I stood rooted to the spot, this was gonna be harder than I thought. Most of them had seen what I did to Alexa, the rest had heard about it, I wouldn’t imagine I had anyone that wanted to be near me. Looking down as a hand slid into mine I cringed at the blue nail polish that greeted me, it wasn’t Alexa I didn’t want anyone else touching me. Pulling my hand away I looked up at Dionne, “don’t touch me again.” 

She scoffed and moved closer to me so she was touching off me, “I’m all you’ve got now Parker, no one here wants to know you anymore. If you ask me,” she said taking a step closer to me, “you should have finished the little dork off, you would have done her a favour.” I growled and pushed her away from me with force I was so pissed right now, “you ever say anything else about Alexa again and I’ll rip your throat out!” I hissed and stormed down the halls ignoring the stares.

Getting to my locker I stopped as Callie stood leaning against it, “can I get into my locker please?” I asked. She shifted herself to the locker beside mine, “I don’t know what Alexa is playing at but she begged me to help you study.” “I know, she told me, when and where?” I asked as I pulled things from my locker. “I’m not doing anything until you tell me what’s going on,” she replied. “It’s up to Alexa to tell you,” I said and closed my locker. “Then I’m not helping you, after what you did to her I don’t know why she’s doing anything for you,” she said and went to walk off. “Wait!” I said and grabbed her arm, looking around at everyone watching I sighed and tugged her along, “not here,” I said and pulled her into the bathrooms.

 Locking the door I turned to face her and leaned against it, “before I tell you anything I need to know exactly what Alexa told you.” 

CALLIE'S POV

 “She asked me to help you study and get ready for your exams. When I asked her what she was up to she just said you guys had talked and to trust her.” “Right,” he said and ran his hands through his hair, “you can’t say anything to anyone Callie. If this gets out it’ll cause trouble for Alexa and I.” I sighed heavily and leaned against the sink, I really had no idea what was going on or what my crazy best friend was up to.

“Fine,” I said and crossed my arms over myself, “What’s going on Parker?” He studied me for a moment before pushing himself off the door and walked to me, “Alexa and I are mates, we ran into each other outside the hospital the night of her birthday that’s how we knew.” My eyes went wide, my mouth fell open I could not believe what I was hearing. I had to have heard wrong, they couldn’t be there’s no way the moon Goddess would let this happen. “Huh?” I finally spit out, I was so confused right now. 

He sighed deeply and sat on the sink beside me, “I know this is messed up and you probably don’t believe me but its true. Alexa and I are mates, we’ve been together almost every day since we found out. We want to be together Callie, we’ve talked about everything. She’s willing to forgive me if I prove myself to her.” “Prove yourself how?” I frowned. 

“She gave me a list, getting back to school and passing these exams was one of them. I’ve to behave myself and pay attention in class, I’ve to go to her house and personally apologise to her parents....and a few other things. I nodded as I took it all in, now this was starting to make a little sense, although I still couldn’t believe they were mates, I mean what are the chances of that happening? “does anyone else know your mates?” I asked curiously. He nodded and slid off the sink, “my parents and her brother Kyle.” 

“Kyle knows!?” I yelled, “thought he would have ripped you from limb to limb when he saw you.” “Me too, but he saw us together and said nothing....so will you help me, please?” he said. Thinking for a moment I nodded, Alexa was my best friend I’d do pretty much anything for her. He seemed like he really wanted to do this for her and make it up to her. “Okay, I’ll help you, meet me in the library in ten....Alexa is outside the gym if you wanna walk the long way,” I smirked and let myself out of the bathrooms. 

He chuckled and followed me, “I’d love to but I’m not allowed to talk to her or go near her, we'll just go now if you’re ready.” I stopped and turned to face him, “why aren’t you allowed near her?” “Her orders, it’s on her list, something about no contact for two weeks,” he muttered. “Making you work for it, nice,” I giggled and started to walk again. “Thanks for this Callie, I know you’d rather be anywhere else.” “Don’t mention it, I call maid of honour, ” I giggled and walked into the library. 

ALEXA'S  POV

Yawning I went outside and walked around the back of the school, it was lunchtime now everyone was in the cafeteria. All morning I had people coming up to me asking me was I okay and talking s**t about Parker. I’d gotten enough of that at home this morning when I refused to let my brother James shadow me for the day. Since I couldn’t exactly defend him I walked away, I just needed a little time by myself. 

I felt terrible I couldn’t stick up for him, rounding the corner I sat on the steps and dropped my bag with a heavy sigh. “Hey beautiful,” came his voice startling me. I looked behind me to see him sitting at the top of the steps alone with books out in front of him. Standing up I grabbed my bag and made my way up to him, I didn’t think twice and dropped into his lap. I hadn’t seen him since he’d left the hospital the day I got my results I missed him like crazy. “Isn’t this breaking your rules?” he said as his arms came around me. 

I shrugged and buried my head into his chest, “I miss you babe,” he said and pulled me closer. I pulled out my phone and typed a message, 'I miss you too like crazy!! I'm starting to think this14 day thing was a bad idea' He chuckled and kissed me on my head, “yeah it is, but we’re halfway there only seven more days to go, it’s torture. The only thing getting me through this is to know I get to spend the whole weekend alone with you,” he said and moved to my ear, “where hopefully I can f**k you like you want me to,” he said huskily. 

My panties dampened, a hot feeling rose in my stomach what was he doing to me? Turning in his arms I straddled him and slammed my lips to his, as it deepened he slid his hand under my skirt and grabbed my ass. Pulling back I grabbed my phone typing quickly I held it out to him. 'wanna f**k me now?' As soon as he read it I crashed my lips back to his. Moaning into my mouth he stood up with me on his hips and started to walk. Getting to an empty classroom he locked the door behind us and carried me to the desk. Dropping me onto it his hands ran up under my skirt and inside my panties, I bit his lip as he touched me. “You like that baby,” he murmured as he teased me. 

I nodded and kissed him hard, pleasure filled me as his fingers entered me. My breathing began to speed up as his hand moved faster, dropping his head to my neck he began to kiss and suck slowly driving me insane. After a few minutes he curled his fingers causing to gasp, it felt so damn good! I felt my release build up, he knew too as I tightened around his fingers, he pulled away from my neck and rested his forehead against mine. My breathing was out of control, I was gripping him so tight. “You are so f*****g hot right now,” he growled and closed his lips over mine. That was all I needed, biting his lip and pulling him closer I came hard seeing lots of wonderful stars.

 PARERK'S POV

I moved my fingers in and out slowly as she came down off her high, her face was so beautiful as I watched what I was doing to her. I chuckled as she dropped her head onto my shoulder panting hard, “you okay babe?” She nodded against me and lifted her head, smiling she leaned in and kissed me sweetly. Sliding my hand onto her cheek I deepened it slowly, pulling back after a minute I pulled my hand from under her skirt and sat beside her “why did you come out here alone? Where are your friends?” I asked. 

She picked up her phone and typed out a message, Everyone is hounding me all morning, I just  wanted a few minutes to myself “Babe if it’s too much for you I can take you home right now.” She smiled and slid her hand into mine while typing with the other. 'I'm okay, just needed to breath, why are you alone? Where is Aaron and your other friends?‘ I smiled weakly and looked down at our hands, “seems no one wants to hang out with me anymore, I was expecting that though.”

 I heard her sigh before her phone appeared under my nose, 'I'm sorry baby, I'm surprised at Aaron he's been your best friend since you were kids'“Don’t worry about me Alex I’ll be fine, Aaron has his reasons leave him to it. I can’t make him hang out with me,” I replied. 'How did it go with Callie this morning? She didn't really tell me anything' I shrugged and stood up off the desk, “good, we did maths this morning the exam is tomorrow. She’s pretty smart,” I chuckled. “She actually made it stick in my brain.”

She smirked and typed quickly handing me the phone I read it and frowned, 'she's a good teacher...you can keep these by the way' I looked up just in time to see her slide her underwear off and throw them at me. Chuckling I scrunched them up and walked between her legs, “do you know what it’ll do to me knowing you’re walking around with nothing on under that short ass skirt?” She bit her lip to hide an smirk and took her phone back from me. Typing she held it out to me, 'part of your punishment babe gotta go, love ya xxx she leaned in and kissed me quickly.

I grabbed her before she could move and wrapped my arms around her, “if I see you bending over in front of any guys you’re gonna be in big trouble missy,” I murmured and squeezed her ass. She giggled and typed something on her phone, 'yes Alpha, what's under here is only for you.' "s**t Alex are you trying to kill me?” I groaned. Her calling me Alpha was driving me insane! Leaning in I kissed her and stepped back, “go find your friends, love ya babe text me later."

ALEXA'S POV 

Finding Aaron was my reason for leaving, I really couldn’t believe he didn’t stick by Parker through all this. They’d been joined at the hip for as long as I could remember, he was gonna be his Beta for crying out loud! I know what Parker did was awful but if I can move on from it so should everyone else. 

Finding him sitting alone I walked to him and stopped in front of him waiting for him to notice me. He looked up and frowned a little, I never really spoke to him on a normal day “hey Alexa, what’s up?” he finally said. I scribbled on my pad and turned it to face him, 'can we talk?' “uh sure,” he said and nodded to the seat beside him. I sat beside him and wrote on my pad again,'I'm just gonna write everything down in 1 go then you can answer at the end' “Okay,” he said slowly and frowned at me again.

'why are you avoiding Parker? Did your parents tell you to stay away from him or is it by choice? Have you even spoken to him since it happened? Do you even know what happened to him? Are you afraid to be seen with him? why are the rest of his friends avoiding him? He really needs his best friend right now. I know he did what he did  but he needs you. Everyone has turned their backs on him, you can't do it too. Friends are supposed to have each others backs and be there for one another.

Handing him the pad I sat back and waited for him to read it all, sighing he handed the pad back to me. “No I’m not avoiding him, I figured he needed some space or something. My parents asked me to keep my distance but I told them no, I know Parker is not some psycho, I know he didn’t mean what he did to you Alexa. I haven’t spoken to him because I don’t know what to say to him. I’m not afraid to be seen with him either, I’m just letting him ease back into school first. Everyone else is avoiding him because they’re even more scared of him than they were before.”

 He sat forward and scrubbed his hands over his face, “I get what you’re saying Alexa, I’ve been a terrible friend. What I don’t understand is why you care at all, you of all people should hate him the most.” I smiled and picked up my pen, scribbling quickly I stood up and held it out to him.'I don't hate him I love him. He's my mate Aaron and it's killing me to see him like this, please go see him? Thank you for the talk....please don't tell anyone we're mates, it will only cause trouble for our families' Walking away I couldn’t help but laugh at his stunned expression. 

PARKER'S POV 

After the school day finally ended I started to walk to my car, everyone had avoided me, the teachers barely spoke to me. Dionne had tried it on again a few more times but stopped once she realised it wasn’t going her way. The only people who’d actually spoken to me today were Alexa and Callie. Not that I blame anyone, I wouldn’t talk to me either, but it still sucked and made me feel like s**t, nothing I didn’t deserve. 

Getting to my car I stopped as I spotted Aaron sitting on the back of my car, walking to him I leaned against it waiting for him to say something, “you wanna go shoot some hoops?” Smiling I nodded and pushed myself off the car, “ready to get whooped again?” I asked as we climbed into my car. This was the first time he’d spoken to me since the day I’d hurt Alexa. 

“That’s some girl you got there,” he said a few minutes later as we drove in silence. Frowning I glanced at him before looking back to the road, “what?” I asked. “Alexa, she’s pretty amazing,” he replied. “I’ve no Idea what you’re talking about,” I said quickly. “Relax,” he laughed “I won’t tell anyone, I just wanted you to know I’m cool with it. If you two want to be together don’t let anyone stand in the way.” Pulling up at the basketball courts I turned off the engine and turned to face him, “how do you know about Alexa?” 

 “Don’t get mad,” he said as he pulled off his belt. “Did you do something to her? Did someone else hurt her?” I asked as I gripped the wheel tightly. “No, chill,” he said opened his door, “she came to see me today. She wanted to know why I was avoiding you, she’s worried about you man,” he said and climbed out. “Hang on,” I said and climbed out after him, “you’re telling me that my girlfriend that has barely said three words to you since we were kids came and had a good long chat with you? Seriously?” I asked.

 “Girlfriend huh? Must be serious, don’t get jealous man, it was all about you,” he chuckled and walked off. “What else did she say?” I asked as I followed him. “That I should have had your back and stuck with you, that it’s killing her to see you so down, and she loves you, I’m sorry about that by the way, I acted like a shitty friend...we playing?” he asked and threw the ball at me. “Aaron,” I chucked as I walked to him, “you were always a shitty friend. On a serious note, I understand why you did it, it’s forgotten,” I said and pulled out my phone to quickly text Alexa. 

ALEXA'S POV 

Finishing my homework I threw my books back into my bag and went to lie on my bed. I was still avoiding my parents, they’d given up trying to talk to me through the door. I looked over at my phone as it beeped, picking it up I unlocked it and smiled widely as Parker’s name came up on the screen, 'Be by around 7 this evening to fix your car babe, dinner with your parents tomorrow? Let me know, I love you gorgeous xxx biting my lip I quickly rolled off my bed and ran for the door, jumping down the stairs two at a time I ran into the kitchen huffing and puffing. My mom turned from the stove and frowned, “what is it Alexa? Is everything okay?” Damn! I’d left my pad upstairs! Running to the drawer I pulled out a copy and a marker, throwing it down on the counter I wrote quickly as my mom watched me curiously. 

Finishing I flung the marker down and turned the page to her 'Alpha, Luna and Parker for dinner tomorrow? Parker wants to personally apologise to you and dad'  She furrowed her brows and looked down at the floor, “I don’t know sweetie, I don’t want a repeat of what happened the other day. Dad is still pretty angry with Parker.” 

I threw the copy down and wrote again, 'dad and I talked, he said he'd try to forgive Parker' My mom sighed and rubbed her forehead before walking to the door and closing it. “Alexa, just what is going on with you and Parker? I know you forgive him and you want to move on, why are you trying so hard to make us forgive him? You weren’t the best of friends before this happened. Do you have a crush on him or something?” 

I blushed and looked down at the floor, it was my mom I couldn’t lie to her. Apart from the fact I’d feel guilty, she always knew when I was lying. Blowing out a deep breath I turned the page of the copy and wrote slowly. Turning it to her I bit my lip and she read it; 'sort of....he's my mate'  My mom stared at the page for about five minutes, she turned to me with worried eyes and searched my face. “Are you in love with him?” I nodded and just stared back at her. She studied me again for a minute before she bit on her own lip...now I know where I get it from. 

“Does he love you?” I nodded again and smiled quickly. She sighed and took a step closer to me, “Lex,” she blew out, “does he truly love you?” I couldn’t think of a reply that would make her believe me so I opened my messages and showed them to her. After a minute she smiled and stepped back to the stove, “dinner tomorrow at six and Alexa....I’m buying you condoms,” she chuckled. 

Damn it!!!! She read our sexy messages! I forgot about them. 

PARKER'S POV 

I was shaking like a leaf as we pulled up outside Alexa's house, I didn’t really get to speak to her while I was fixing her car last night. Her little sisters kept bugging her to play with them, all she really said was her parents agreed to the dinner. Now here I was back again for dinner with her and her parents....I was a nervous wreck! 

“It’ll be okay son,” my dad said slapping me on the back, “what you wrote was perfect, you expressed remorse guilt and everything else. They might not forgive you right away but they will respect you for coming and apologising.” “Deep breaths hun,” my mom chuckled as she knocked at the door. It opened quickly to reveal Alexa looking just as nervous as I was, “Alexa honey” my mom said and hugged her. “You look great, blue really suits you." She smiled quickly and bowed her head at both of them.

“Alexa you don’t bow to us anymore,” my dad said quietly as he stepped inside. He glanced back at me and rolled his eyes, I was just staring at her like an i***t, she was so gorgeous!!! “We'll give you two a minute,” he chuckled. "Just one though!” my mom whispered loudly and led my dad to through to the kitchen. 

I pulled her to me and kissed her deeply, “you look beautiful babe.” She smiled and held up her phone, 'I'm so nervous, I know you are too but It'll be okay, my dad promised to be on his best behaviour, I love you xxx' “I’m nervous as hell but I’ll get through it, anything to make you happy,” I murmured and kissed her again. “Parker!” my mom whispered loudly. 

Alexa grabbed my hand and dragged me to the kitchen, “hi Parker,” her mom greeted warmly. “Mr and Mrs Keane,” I nodded, “thank you for agreeing to this and having us over.” “You’re welcome, have a seat,” her mom said and pointed to a chair. “Alexa you’ll be beside him, Alpha, Luna the two seats on this side are for you,” she smiled and sat down. I blew out a deep breath and waited for everyone to be seated, glancing at Alexa I cleared my throat and looked over at her dad....here goes nothing.

 “Mr and Mrs Keane, I want to apologise for what happened with Alexa and I.” “You mean when you almost killed my daughter?” her dad said dryly. “Steven,” her mom hissed and smacked his arm, “go on Parker.” I closed my eyes quickly as Alexa's hand slid onto my knee, dropping my hand under the table I laced my fingers with hers and looked back to her dad. 

“I’m so sorry for what happened, there is no excuse for what I did. I had only previously gotten my wolf and was still learning how to control him. I don’t know what came over me that day, but I do know I regret it so so much. I hate myself for what I’ve done, I wish so badly that I could trade places with you,” I said and turned to Alexa. “I’m so sorry Alexa, I’ll live with the guilt for the rest of my life, I’ll spend my life making it up to you. I’ll do anything you want, I’m not asking any of you to forgive me, I’m asking that you accept my apology and understand I know the hurt and pain I caused you all.” 

“We need to move on from all of this Parker, If Alexa can forgive you, I can too,” her mom smiled. Her dad scoffed, “a few I’m sorry's is not gonna cut it with me. So you should feel guilt and remorse! You almost took our daughter from us! She could have died! Do you have any idea what it feels like to sit there feeling so helpless and like a failure watching your daughter fighting for her life! Praying and praying for her to wake up!” her dad yelled. 

“I think we need a little break, Steven follow me please,” my dad said and stood up. “You can hug him,” her mom chuckled as soon as her dad was gone....wait! She told her mom? Before I could think anything else she shot out of her chair and into my arms. 

"Aww, don't they look so cute together Zara?" My mom said as I pulled her closer to me. Her mom smiled and nodded, "they do Luna, I see a wedding on the cards." Alexa giggled and pulled back a little, I didn't care that our moms were there. Sliding my hand onto her cheek I leaned in to her, "I love you beautiful," I murmured and kissed her slowly.

"Parker!" My mom hissed, "your dads are in the next room!"

"Don't care," I mumbled and deepened the kiss.

"I'm happy you two are in love and all but Alexa's dad won't be as happy if he walks back in to this," her mom said. She giggled and pecked me before standing up and going back to her own seat.....Now just to get through the actual dinner with her dad.
