Thorne leans in, eyes narrowed. “This is suicide. Meeting bloodsuckers while she’s still shifting? You’re dragging the whole pack into a war for one girl who isn’t even—”
“She stays with the pack.” I step forward. “She’s my mate, and she’s under my protection.”
A few enforcers exchange uneasy looks.
My mother finally speaks. “I hope you two survive where your father didn’t.”
I don’t look away from Thorne. “Tell Darius we meet at the eastern ridge at first light. Neutral ground. Six on each side, no more. Anyone who breaks the rules, we end them.”
As the hall starts to empty, Sienna leans into me.
Her voice drops. “They’re scared of what I might turn into.” She swallows. “I’m scared too. But hiding won’t fix any of this.”
