Chapter Twenty-ThreeJay appeared behind an old wooden building. He looked around and made sure that no one saw him show up. Once he saw that he was alone, he took a deep breath and walked around the building back to a muddy street. The sky was cloudy and the air was cool and people were walking back and forth on the side. Jay watched as a hoverbike slowly went by.
It was beaten and looked like it had been in a couple of fights or wrecks. This was every village in the wasteland in the spring time. A muddy mire mixed with the smell of despair in the air.
