It was a little past ten when the first text came in. The nerves I’d been feeling for the past hours settled and stirred up others. Now I could stop worrying about whether she was going to text or not. Instead, that concern could be used in figuring out what this text meant and what I should reply next. I clicked my tongue as I reread her line. It was simple, straight forward, confident. What was I supposed to say to that? My thumbs hit the screen as I typed out a response. As I tapped the button to send the message, I cringed. It seemed like a great reply in my head, but seeing it written out like that… That sucked. What a stupid reply, but it was too late now. It was gone and the three dots were already dancing under Olivia’s name. All I could do was watch and wait. A dry reply. O
