Chapter 22 His hesitation was so minute, he doubted Dominique or JT noticed. Gideon didn’t miss it, though. He put his hand on Jesse’s shoulder and squeezed lightly, a silent reminder that Gideon knew exactly what it felt like to stand on the threshold of his own home and have relief turn to dread. He was going to open that door, and Emma would not be there to greet him. He’d go to her studio, and she wouldn’t be there, waiting for him.
