Sophie’s POV The corrupted wolf disappeared inside the mansion before I could stop it. I was so terrified that I felt it in my veins like ice. “Lucas!” I screamed, already running. I sprinted through the front doors. The corridors blurred past. I could hear fighting behind me, Damon roaring as he tore through the creatures trying to follow. But all I could think about was my son. I reached the stairs leading to the reinforced bunker and nearly collided with two of our guards. They were slumped against the wall, eyes black and twitching. “Get up!” I shouted, sending a wave of golden energy to burn away whatever corruption had taken them.
