The long drive had taken a toll on me. Throughout the drive, I kept thinking that someone was tailing us. Well, that was all in my imagination because so far we had made it to the safe house with no hiccups. I still could not believe that jade had such a lovely place, when she had said safe house, I thought it would be some dingy apartment in the middle of nowhere. I had picked the room downstairs out of paranoia. The mere thought that Ivan and Dominic could be the first ones to be attacked was enough reasoning to select the room that was furthest from the door and windows. The room was also directly below Jade’s attic and if I knew anything about attics is that they had secret doors and that would come in handy in case of an ambush.
