Chapter 17 Sam stopped after exiting the Corner Drug, allowing his eyes to adjust to the bright midday sun reflecting off the snow. Much of the snow that had been plowed to the side of the street was now slush. Sam began his walk back down the street, his bag of new clothing in hand. As he passed the clothing store, he waved at Mr. Andrews who was adjusting some suits on a rack. Sam thought about how the clothing in the store was of good quality, but even in a relatively economically depressed town like Fries, was overpriced.
